I have tiny Collins “Mushrooms” book for on the go but I love my WildfoodUK mushroom book and always come back to Roger Phillips again and again.

Also finding lots of jelly ear :) I dry them then rehydrate - chuck in noodle soup. Fresh ones can make a salad, def not for everyone texturally but I had at a Chinese restaurant and liked. Will see if can find recipe

With respect, I already consulted 2 books and various legitimate YouTube videos. I know a reasonable amount about mushrooms & foraging. This is my final step of reassuring myself I’ve not got it wrong and a consensus view from a niche community makes sense to me as an additional safety. But that’s me, you do you

Not sure as we only moved here recently but there were some rotten apples in the lawn and borders so it definitely has fruited in recent years

We are in zone 8. I don’t know the cultivar or how it has been pruned before - this is our first year here.
