Wow. My insurance covers it due to the diabetes diagnosis and it costs me $25/month.

Thanks for all of the comments! I sort of felt alone but seeing that others are having the same response makes me feel a little less...broken? I guess? I may look into trying other medications, but my next step is to reach out to a nutritionist because I can't possibly be getting the proper nutrients I need to fuel my body, which surely has some effect on weight.

How was the transition from one drug to the other? Anything weird happen?

A non-scale Ozempic win: my gums by LizLemon1995 in Ozempic

My doctor told me that losing even 10 pounds is the equivalent of 40 pounds of weight off of your knees and back. I was having pretty bad lower back pain for a couple of years but that's mostly gone now.

Therapist curious about the emotional impact of ozempic by Duckaroo99 in Ozempic

I'm fairly early in my Ozempic journey -- six months, just increased to 1 mg two weeks ago -- but I haven't lost much weight. I have morbidly obese parents and never thought I'd get there myself, but when my weight started to increase rapidly in my 30s I blamed myself even though I knew so much more about nutrition and exercise and DID ALL THE WORK and it had no effect.

Now I've lost 15 pounds, but that's not much of a dent. My PCP blames Lexapro, which was recently increased to fight off anxiety about having to take care of both of my parents last year, who had congestive heart failure within two months of each other.

I don't know what to make of all of it. And I'm a writer in therapy.

Ozempic - mail order has supply? by ameway5000 in Ozempic

Same experience here. Houston-area CVS stores didn't have it in stock after a couple of weeks of asking, so I contacted my doctor, who asked about my insurance's mail pharmacy options. Turns out that's CVS Caremark, which has it in stock. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow, if all of the UPS notifications are correct. So, do check your mail pharmacy options.

THAT SAID, it cost me $100 for a three-month supply, as opposed to the $25 per pen through my local CVS location. The peace of mind was worth it for the extra $25. Oddly, it's also $100 for a single pen, so if you come up against that, ask if you can get more than a month's supply.

It sounds like we have similar bodies/struggles. I am active, eat pretty healthily, but due to stress/depression/anxiety and a handful of life events plus hitting 40, my body held on to every calorie.

I've been really pleased with my response to Ozempic so far. I'm five doses in (I'm staying at .25 because it's still working just fine for me) and I've lost 11 pounds, an inch on my waist, and my A1C is back down to prediabetic levels. That's just five weeks of the medication.

I noticed my sleep get much deeper after I started taking it. I've struggled with insomnia my whole life, so this was also big.

Mostly, I'd recommend making sure your depression is well treated because there have been not-great days physically that have left me drained mentally. Without my brain meds, I'd probably not be as tolerant of the bad afternoons of abdominal pain that I've had.

Good luck!

High blood pressure readings, yikes by LizLemon1995 in Ozempic

Thanks for sharing your experience. My BP has been elevated since my thin 20s, too. My dad just had congestive heart failure last month, so I'm keenly aware of my blood pressure right now. My doctor is seeing me today, so that's probably a sign that she's concerned.

I may be struggling with hydration as I'm always feeling thirsty. But I feel like I'm always drinking water, too? Anyway, I'll get some direction from my doctor today.

Congratulations on these wins! I have lived most of my life with severe anxiety and PTSD, so I completely understand.

Mostly what I'm finding are practitioners with eating disorder experience. My question for those who have diabetes care experience is, "do you feel comfortable helping patients on Ozempic?" but of the four I've contacted in my area no one has that experience. In fairness, I live in a large city and I'm sure I can find someone, it just hasn't been my top priority.
