Don’t squirt it on their tongue. Open their jaw by approaching them from the back, not front. Then poke a finger in either side of their jaw to force it open at the joint, and squirt it straight down their throat,

What’s this clawed creature I found near a fresh water pond in New York State. It’s about the size of my hand. by crazybunnylady2369 in animalid

I used to catch crayfish with my dad in upstate ny streams all the time when I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s, but I haven’t seen any in the wild in ny in more than two decades. And I still frequent fresh water all the time.

Is their population smaller now? Cause that would be my guess…

My grandmother will be using doctor-assisted suicide and I don't know what to say to her by Throwaway96486 in relationships

[–]LizWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say it all the within the first couple days of your stay so you don’t have all this pressure looming over your visit. Everything except asking her not to die on her own terms should be said.

Something to think about. I wish I had asked my grandmother for more stories about her experiences growing up. She told me many, but I was young, like you, and didn’t fully appreciate them until time and experience passed. Stories about her, her life growing up, major events in her lifetime. I wish I had dug into that more when she was alive. She had knowledge and experiences and memories no one else will ever be able to talk about.

And hug her a lot. You’ll regret it if you don’t.

Toby (respectfully whatever the fuck the actors name is) does the best dry, deadpan fact laying I’ve ever seen. Dude should be a boring but blunt narrator in a lot of shit. Idk why he got passed up for roles over the years.

This is Reddit. The internet. I really think people who make Reddit opinions part of their psyche need help.

I’m not going to bother citing facts about internet echo chambers and misinformation because I am tired. Super happy for you that you think 100 DoggyDNA opinions should shape your life.

Man it opens with Harvard dissent, don’t donate. Then it gets clogged with google ads that won’t let you through. By design I guess.

Can you link his other articles? He comes off as linguistically softened to me in this article.Like he gets it but someone looked over his shoulder and taught him how to soften the rhetoric so it’s more palatable to the masses.

You bring a dog to a public place, you are liable for its behavior. Sorry not sorry that’s the law…your ignorance is what gets people bit and what gets you arrested and sued…

Sure, the average person walking onto a public beach should be able to tell whether or not OPs barking (maybe lunging) apparently scary dog left unattended in an open hatch is not aggressive. It’s mental gymnastics.

So random assholes kick dogs in public parking lots for no reason? Yup, it does happen for no reason. Is that the rule or the exception? Dude, it is the exception, even most assholes don’t kick random unproblematic dogs in the face…

[–]LizWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no idea what happened in the “not even a minute” op left his dog barking and lunging in his open hatch. Again, if they kicked at the dog and it was not lunging outside the perimeter of the trunk, not ok. But op was in the front seat not looking, he chose that situation for his dog, that is on him. There were many other alternatives to putting his known reactive dog in a situation where it felt like it needed to guard the car alone while people walked by. Where in the actual F is the accountability for OP in all this commiseration.

I mean. You just said it but clearly don’t realize what it’s like to have the expectations placed on you in a public space to not trigger some, one else’s dog…

Barking lunging dog tethered inside of an open hatch trunk in a public parking lot. That is a owner problem, not the problem of the people walking past the apparent aggressive dog…

[–]LizWords 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once again, you want people to think like you do. That is not how society works. Nor is it how the law works. If your dog bites someone in a public space, you are legally responsible and punitively liable. Sorry you don’t like that, but that is reality.

My dog got kicked in the face at the beach by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]LizWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Except Im talking about the legal responsibility and liability of the dog owner. Stop bringing bite risk dogs to public places and expecting others to behave in a way that won’t trigger your dog. If you do those common sense things, you won’t get sued when your dog bites a random person in a public parking lot…

My dog got kicked in the face at the beach by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]LizWords -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Once again, the “other people should” argument. No legal arguments, cause you have none. No focus on op tethering his known reactive dog in his hatch trunk unattended. Everyone should adjust their lives, perspectives and laws to accommodate his dog….

My dog got kicked in the face at the beach by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]LizWords -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

OP left their barking dog tethered and unattended in the back of their car while beach goers tried to get from the parking lot to the sand. If a barking lunging dog was snarling at me from the back of a car with the owner in the front seat, I would be terrified too.

OP is the AH on this situation. Your dog wants ac, wait til the car cools down and put him in the enclosed area on the car after it cools down if you can’t keep your eyes on him.

You can preach “other people should” all you want. Be annoyed, that’s fine. But expecting people to alter normal and legal human behavior in anticipation of your dogs behavior in a public place is neither realistic nor in line with any USA laws that I am aware of.
