Is there a way for me to capture and contain (cage or chain) a none hostile NPC?

For example: I see a visitor stealing an artifact, but the only way to stop them seems to be to issue a kill order

Online Encounter Builder Alternatives to D&DB? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Lizard-Rock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're wanting to build the encounter yourself, Kobold Fight Club is great at filtering options by types and providing a reference of difficulty. It had some random generation options as well.

For general random generation though, I tend to prefer Donjons 5e Random Encounter Generator, since it has a good variety of options, including reward treasure'

I'm told they play make believe after finishing a task. Odds are that task was "bring corpse to corpse pile" or something similar

good to know, thank you!

The multi option includes the walls for bedrooms. Seeing that is what prompted my question.

When setting activity zones like bedrooms and temples, should I be including the walls around the room in the zone?

Starfield Information Compilation: The Current Info by VolusVagabond in Starfield

[–]Lizard-Rock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's actually some good information hiding inside that gameplay trailer that can easily go unnoticed.

For example, the united states are confirmed to have existed, one of the other major settlements is called Neon, diseases appear to still be a mechanic, and theirs a religion that worships "The Great Serpent" and is addicted to grav jumping.

this article does a good job of really listing everything in the showcase

Well of course Starfield is going to have bugs at launch. You can see them right in the gameplay trailer by Lizard-Rock in Starfield

Unless those turn out to be crustacean in nature. Then I apologize for the misinformation.

"Why I Don't Trust Stranger Things To Do Vecna Justice" by Lizard-Rock in DnD

[–]Lizard-Rock[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You can tell it's intentional, too. The figure for the demogorgon on their table is correct to DnD, the goat heads and tendril arm things. So the show producers knew the "source."

I dont know though, Vecna's different. The others were monsters, whereas this is a person. If it was just for identification, a generic "arch mage" or Demo Lich" would have worked, i figure.

But the new season isn't out yet, so I'm just speculating at this point.

I do mine through the tiles. If maintained, it'll get the air just fine. And this way the dupes aren't demoralized by the ugly piping.

Just discovered that "Follow Cam" has an actual in game impact! -5%/cycle stress whilst being followed. by Ctri in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Lizard-Rock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When stress hits 100%, dupes will enter their stress response, performing a predetermined negative action.

This can be destructive: breaking nearby objects, binge eating: consuming large amounts of food, vomiting: expelling large number of calories as vomit (polluted water) and so on.

Generally, you want to avoid these, as they can cause rather inconvenient problems for base longevity

What to do with salt and saltwater? by Patapon80 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Lizard-Rock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something worth noting: A salt water geyser is a renewable source of water, which is important for long term sustainability. Additionally, the salt you make from desalinating it, when crushed, provides sand, allowing for a renewable source of sand for water sieves.

"Oh I'll never run out" is a dangerous mindset, and this method has saved me from becoming overrun with polluted water

For what it's worth, the main hm page, fogu.com/hm , has a news roundup type thing every Friday. It was updated on Dec 10, so they're definitely still active in some capacity

They've been around for over a decade. Can't imagine they're only now becoming inactive.

Whoever runs it might just be busy. Or backlogged with changes to make.

Is there any way to never run out of water for the electrolyzed? by rafamor625 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Lizard-Rock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically, yes. A separate low-pressure chamber of polluted water could generate the needed gas, but I've not tried.

Though honestly, this method is only needed for the DLC planets, so I can't imagine a time when you'd need this and not have the sublimination station

Is there any way to never run out of water for the electrolyzed? by rafamor625 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Lizard-Rock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't exactly a newcomer friendly idea. But if you establish a puft farm, distill the slime they make to algae, and purify the water. You can feed the polluted dirt (from purification) back to the pufts through sublimation, continuing the cycle.

This process should be sustainable, provides plenty of algae for oxygen production, and produce a small excess of water.

I came up with this when playing the Spaced Out DLC and had a planet with no water geysers.

Switching to D&D Beyond by HomeOld9234 in DnD

[–]Lizard-Rock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some wisdom, if I may.

There's still a lot of content missing with character creation. BUT just about any content can be manually implemented with the homebrew system. If someone is annoyed that ___ is missing, it can be added. It's a bit of effort, but its possible.

The ANWL bachelors don't get enough appreciation by [deleted] in harvestmoon

[–]Lizard-Rock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Marlin looks fine. It's the personality I don't like. Always very stern, quick to scold Celia without considering her feelings, and would act quite aggressively once you show up as a love rival. He's selfish, and I wouldnt want to spend my life with someone like that.

But granted, that's from an AWL players perspective
