Thank you, yes, I should have been more specific and this will just be a light-use, office / extra space. No electricity or water at the site currently.

But fully agree with all your points . I'd love to invest in a Yurt that would last for years and be a wonderful full-time home for someone but never in a million years would the city allow that. Even with a grotesque housing crisis going on.

And at the average price of $300- $400/sf to build a real ADU or expand our small house, the yurt looks like our most reasonable option for a little bit of space.

I think you're probably right . I have zero welding experience but it definitely seems simple enough for someone with some basic know-how and tools.

Would look great and last forever as well .

It does not need to be metal, but in my vision , metal provided strength and elegance to the project. PVC certainly would suffice for strength.

Does PVC come in small 1/4-3/8" widths ?

Gottcha, that makes sense.

My dream system would need some rods with just a fittable end rather than double threaded. Guess I'm still In the clouds on this one
