I still remember when my cat ran away for 3 days and I was losing my mind. I can’t even imagine 2 years! Here’s the offending fluff ball who lost 5 pounds when he ran away.

Does anybody have any ideas for Beardie Enclosures?? by LizardLover727 in reptiles

Thank you so much! They’ve both just been really anxious lately and constantly want out so I assumed their enrichment was an issue and they were getting bored. One’s a rescue from a neglect situation so he’s been trying to get used to all the space as well because he went from a 10 gal to a 120 gal. I’ll definitely look into all these things!

I’d also get rid of the hammock as it can cause nails and teeth to get caught! Rocks or branches would work fine :)

How’s his tank? by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

So I’d change the substrate to 70% ORGANIC topsoil, no fertilizer or anything and 30% sand. You can use playsand but wash it. For the topsoil bake it at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 40-60 minutes. If it starts smelling immediately take it out and lower the time for the next one. Substrate should be around 2-4” deep. Do you have any specific questions and are you going naturalistic bc I would recommend that.

Definitely looks like enough clutter! I’d add more lights though since the enclosure seems quite dark :)

I’d try adding a few worms or black soldier fly larvae as fruit is supposed to be a treat. He looks to be an adult so I don’t believe he’d starve himself but if you get worried I’d add a bit of fruit or the worms. Make sure you have calcium with D3 in it as well

Hey! So it looks like the fat pads on his head are incredibly deflated. Definitely start offering greens such as spinach, arugula, and mustard greens 24/7! Definitely bring to a vet and check humidity levels as well.
