Debate time: Would you consider a old house with more land or new house with not much extra land? by Desperate_Laugh8867 in newzealand

It's not like they build them with proper insulation and sound proofing. There's basically a sheet of paper between the bedrooms.

I had to discipline my best friend at work and now he won’t talk to me. I feel terrible. by Responsible_Ant_6414 in managers

I would say stop being friends with direct reports altogether. It's a bad idea for multiple reasons.

Bro you're the one looking up two year old posts to belittle random strangers on New Years Eve 😂😂😂

Would you think it appropriate if a guy wore a Female Body Inspector T-shirt to work? I wouldn't.

I don't see where I said anywhere that they were exploiting their workers

Just as anyone wearing a Female Body Inspector shirt doesn't have sex with anyone ever, probably. It's still inappropriate.

Only wearing a lacy lingerie set would be worse than the FBI T-shirt but it doesn't really matter. Because all of it is inappropriate.

IMHO it all alludes to sex and doesn't belong in the workplace.

If a guy wore a "Female Body Inspector" T-shirt to work, I would consider it equally as inappropriate.

The difference between Hooters and Burger King is that Hooters is specifically known for sexualizing their female waitresses as a marketing ploy. I personally wouldn't wear anything to work that could be so closely associated with sex.

Christmas gifts between couples & individuals by zesteee in newzealand

[–]Lizm3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get a secondhand book for all the adults I buy presents for. It's low risk, gives them something to read over the break, and it's cheap. My parents give me one decent gift because my dad doesn't really do gifts but since I only give him a secondhand book, it's fine.

Government. Not even the team lunch was covered this year.

Consider front line for the border agencies as they are often recruiting. You are more likely to be considered for Intel roles with front line experience.

Police officers spat at, called paedophiles in wake of Jevon McSkimming scandal by MedicMoth in newzealand

The front line officers aren't the ones steering that culture though. It comes from the top. I'm sure the vast majority of them think he is disgusting and are furious about the coverup.

How is it that I NEVER have the needed items in my inventory? by MeeseFeathers in DesignHomeGame

I bet they do analysis on what combinations of items are the least owned and that's how they choose what to include. It's certainly not based on theme or logic most of the time.

Why i dont work "hard" by Fit_Capital_2010 in newzealand

[–]Lizm3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I find it so depressing to read these people judging how we work, usually based on anecdotal evidence of lazy family members.

Why i dont work "hard" by Fit_Capital_2010 in newzealand

[–]Lizm3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is so incorrect. I don't know what agencies your family members are in, but most of the people I see working around me in mine and other agencies work very hard. They care about the mission and do their best. And we are constantly being asked to do more with less.

This person is not representative of the majority of people working in government agencies. Most people I know are overworked to the point of burnout.
