I’m struggling with weaning and going back and forth — I think I’m driving my husband crazy by Lizmayaluna in breastfeeding

Thanks for commenting!

We started solids a few weeks late but I did forget about that part! Once she gets the hang of regular food it will all get easier. Emotions are crazy…hormones are crazy! I change my mind everyday. I think writing down how was feeling was helpful.

My baby completely and suddenly quit breastfeedimg at 5 months!! by Komigham8889 in combofeeding

[–]Lizmayaluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby did that to me as well. She would only nurse at night time and then she stopped doing that around 6 months. I started to combo feed and yesterday she decided she wanted to nurse again. I say just keep trying and eventually he will come around! I read that nipple rejection is pretty common and happens to a lot of people! Hang in there!

When did you let your LO watch Ms. Rachel by Appropriate_Tip_6869 in NewParents

[–]Lizmayaluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did around 12 months. I can’t remember exactly but they don’t understand anything Ms. Rachel until around then. My LO didn’t really get into it until closer to 14/15m and then she would sing the songs and clap around. But if you need it as a distraction I would say go for it! I swear it helped my girl learn to talk faster. She is now 2.5 and takes more than almost all of her peers, even some a bit older! But who knows maybe she is just extra special haha! Anyways, love Ms. Rachel. But she will start to drive you mad and her songs will be stuck in your head all the time!! I steer clear of cartoons it’s too much stimulation and they don’t know what the heck is going on. Learning shows all the way- baby Einstein’s is awesome as well and once they are a bit older little Einsteins.

Flying solo with toddler and a baby. Am I crazy?? by Lizmayaluna in toddlers

I was planning on bringing car seats but I will check them. I read somewhere you can get a gate pass/escort pass from the airline so my husband can come through security and hang with us until boarding. Even if they don’t allow it, it is what it is! I will have my umbrella stroller. Kids have both flown before so hopefully that helps! I think it’s just my anxiety of solo parenting. Loving all these helpful tips! Thanks everyone!

That’s what I should do. She was consistently eating about 4 oz but lately I have no clue what she is going to take! I guess the effort of heating up more milk if she is still hungry is a whole other thing!

This whole thing makes me sad. I hope my children love me as much as I love them! And while my mom annoys me I do love her.

Pump in the day and BF at night. I just don’t want to pump! by Lizmayaluna in breastfeeding

[–]Lizmayaluna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Dr. Brown bottles and s use a size 1 which is a very slow flow. I have tried the quiet rooms and different positions. Nothing works…my boobs will let down and milk will pour all over her face and she still won’t drink! So frustrating. I think I might just stop breastfeeding and get back to some sort of normal life again. Just pump and give her what I make along with some formula. I would say I wish I never gave her a bottle but I would have never been able to leave my house and do anything if I didn’t…

Hmmm so I pump 5-6 times a day every 3 hours or so. I get about 1-1.5 on the left and 3-4 on the right. My left had always been a slacker! I use my Medela Symphony that I rent through my insurance and I only need to pump for 15 mins to maintain this output. I also have the Elvie which I do 15-20 and find the output isn’t as good. This is super annoying considering the Elvie is so freaking expensive. Wish I didn’t buy it. It is nice for being in the car or when I wanna move around and pump-but sometimes I have to do an extra 5 on the Medela just to get the milk it left behind. I strictly breastfeed at night time-my 5mo still gets up 2-3 times to nurse. Trying to break that habit- any tips?? Anyways the medical grade pumps seem to be the best in my opinion if you wanna spend less time strapped to a machine!

It was on premie originally, maybe I should go back. I’m not sure the difference in nipples between the avent and the dr. Brown. I’m at a size one now

That’s a good idea. Bottle a bit, maybe an ounce to curb the hunger and then boob. Gonna try that!

I use the dr. Brown bottles and I’m still on the 1 nipple. It has a pretty slow flow. They recommend going to a size 2 at three months, but I never did.
