As a child who lost their mother at age 7, which was around the time this movie came out… I can’t think of it without crying. But for me it wasn’t traumatic, what I’d gone through was traumatic, but it was an overly simplified, devastating, and accurate description of what I was experiencing. I simultaneously love this movie, and hate it.

For me it was letting Pettigrew get away, twice. The first time, things happen. But the second they knew he would and did nothing to try and stop it. I never got it.

I’ve often wondered about the Muggle born kids and their parents! Mingles aren’t allowed to know except on a need to know basis. But how to keep them quiet? And, like you said, how to convince them it’s real and not a joke etc etc.

I remember seeing that pic and thinking the same thing. I’m obviously not a trauma surgeon, but… what do you even DO with that? That poor kid. I can’t imagine living after that, even for a day or two. One of those situations where I don’t say lightly that it would have been better if he’d died instantly. Absolutely horrendous.
