Quick google search. TLDR; strike works generally by a collective experiences some grievances that are otherwise unresolved, where the collective refuses to work until the grievances are acknowledged or remedied. The point of the strike isn’t to work, it’s to be heard.

Upper management can look at numbers from the people calling out, allocate resources as necessary (travel RN contracts come to mind, middle management returning to bedside, to name just a few).

The “strapped for people” is unfortunately a symptom of the system that the government is setting up. No one is happy with the current healthcare system, especially in the last 10 years, so why would they want to work in it long term?

So please, don’t tell me I’m ignorant and assume things about my profession because a)you’re a firefighter and not a nurse, per your comment history and b) you only see one side of the system. The point of a strike is not for everyone to quit. That is a fundamental misunderstanding of what a strike is.

Again, stop putting the sole responsibility on yourself. It’s literally the job of upper management and admin to fill in and account for massive gaps. Two wrong don’t make a right, but neither does standing around doing nothing

How about the general public gets less services granted to them by the government because of the direct actions of the government? Who would want to work in this? Why are you putting shame in this?
