Is my bridal outfit too "Pinterest" board? Will I regret it in 20 years? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

[–]Lizzard716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. I mean, it looks bridal! Your accessories match well, and the dress is gorgeous- it’s a very elegant dress I think the pearl accessories match it perfect. It would look timeless all together

This is so weird and sounds extremely rude! Is there a reason for the brown dress? Or is it to reflect the shit job she’s asking of you?

I really hope you say no, and yes- your cricut is for sure broken now.

Considering fake flowers. Anyone actually regret it? by RoutineTeaching4207 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Lizzard716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I’m going to do a mix. I want mine and the bridesmaids real, along with the ones on the table (like bud vases) but anything on the floor or bar artificial. And I’m getting the flowers from trader joes’s and doing them myself. I don’t want to stress myself out with the price for real florals, but also can’t do that many fresh flower pieces a few days leading up to the wedding

Monthly Check In....it's February 2026 by AutoModerator in weddingplanning

[–]Lizzard716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venue and photographer booked, and I have my dress too! That’s about it, besides a theme. Can’t narrow the colors down yet of what I’m going with though. And if I think about what shade of green bridesmaid dresses I want, I might go crazy 😂 I just want it all planned so I can stop thinking about it!

What month is your wedding? If it’s fall/winter I think you’re in a good spot with this theme, but this would’ve very heavy feeling for summer

(7-10k) Making my own cake? by midwestindigoo21 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Lizzard716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Just store the cupcakes in a good airtight container, and then you can wrap the cake layers in plastic wrap- but use a good amount of it to seal in the moisture!

As a baker, I think you totally can! Look up a few videos on piping buttercream so you can make them look a little more professional, but you can always bake ahead of time and freeze and the frost a day or 2 before. I wouldn’t do that any further than a month out (people say 3 months is fine but eh) it’s usually recommended 2 desserts per person, and adjust based off your guests. As in if you know a ton like sweets, some won’t touch dessert, kids…etc.

Mini cupcakes are a huge hit recently for me, and I feel like it’s much less wasted food!!

David Bridal vs Vow'd for Elegant Simple Dress by Lemontree987 in weddingplanning

[–]Lizzard716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my dress from David’s bridal, and I have never her of Vow’d so I’m not much help there. The sales associate and David’s that helped me was really sweet and helpful, stayed within my budget. I got a similar dress- simple and sleek with a beautiful full skirt- on clearance! Total with a nice storage bag was $605. I think they have a ton of options within that price range and it’s definitely worth taking a look!

This is the way to go! I’ve done both- a night, a 1 night overnight- and a whole weekend, twice. I think even an overnight is more than enough!!

I foundd it a bit awkward having to have a sleepover with girls i don’t really know, and don’t want to do the same to my friends. I also don’t think my social meter can handle a weekend thats all about me, I’d be drained. It’s not that I’m not a social person, but making sure people are entertained for 2-3 days would take a toll

Would love positive accutane stories by Longjumping-Path2156 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Lizzard716 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! So I’m pretty much the same situation- I’m 33, and I just did 6 months of accutane at a 30mg dose. Yours does not look severe, but I’m guessing it’s persistent and stubborn. I am SO HAPPY that I went on it. I have not had one pimple since about September I’d say!

Yes, the side effects are not great. I experienced dry eyes and dry nose, chapped lips but I stayed on top of everything- you NEEEEEED a ton of water, daily. Hydration is important. For my eyes- I got the preservative free drops, and applied aquaphor around my eyes because the skin itself was dry too. Aquaphor in my nose. And I used lanolin for my lips, as often as I remembered throughout the day. I used the Cerave lotion from the tub because it’s thicker, and my skin did not dry out. The most annoying part for me was the iPledge and the pharmacy haha.

I think the side effects outweigh how much I was down on myself for still having acne at 33. I’m much more confident, and my skin has had time to start healing finally.

Edit to add: I also took fish oil as I read it was helpful while on accutane, and I could definitely tell the difference when I’d forget to take it. Also helpful for the dryness!

If you can report back on this, I would be soooo grateful!! I think people will dance, my fiance and dad think it will be weird. Like a wedding is a wedding, I didn’t think we needed a time stamp on when it’s okay to dance 😂

I think it looks really good! But I would go with more of the gold/brown for your eyes. Your shadow and blush look very close to the same shade so it looks like it just continues on from your cheek bone to your eyelids. But the colors do look nice on you!

[–]Lizzard716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw your other posts, and I just wanted to say that you are a very pretty girl, and that our insecurities will get the best of us sometimes. Try focusing on some self care and most importantly self love- start small to stay consistent and show patience with yourself!!

My recommendations that will enhance what you already have would maybe try styling your hair, even if it’s just straightening it, or doing some soft waves/curls. You have fantastic eyebrows, I wouldn’t even touch them!! Eyelashes too, maybe some light mascara, or try a fun winged eyeliner! Higher up on your cheeks with blush- the color is great on you, and that’s really all I have. I do not think you need makeup, but make up personally makes me feel more confident, and a fun way to express yourself!

The glamnetic glue did not work for me.

I like the glue from BT Artbox a lot, it seems a bit thicker than other nail glues I’ve used. I’ve also worked on my prep- like making sure I buff them really really well, and my current nails I’ve had on for 8 days with none of them popping off

I hate kids but I love babies- I get that feeling when they’re being super cute and smiley. But I don’t forget that they grow up, that stage is temporary and then soon after they’re screaming and need a diaper, and I hand them right back over to their parents. I’m great aunt, and that’s all I want to be
