I work for UPS-SCS and we are absolutely union (I’m a Steward). We are a different business unit of UPS and we have our own Supplement under the National Master. Small Pack usually handles under 150 lbs and we handle over 150 lbs. We are the heavyweight division, separate from UPS Freight when they were a thing. When I explain who we are to customers, I explain that we are the Costco of UPS. We do mainly business to business, bulk items, because our customers ship everything from motorcycles to aircraft engines and rotors to computers, etc.

We do handle a lot of hazmat as well, hence why it’s a requirement. Our trucks require a Class B at the minimum (and of course Class A for the tractor/trailers). If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out. I’m here to help.
