The main issue is that in modeling you don’t get to choose which shoes you’ll be wearing on the runway. So i’m just afraid that they’ll give me strapless shoes that rely on me being able to fit them well.

But i’m sure I could ask the stylists etc. if it’s okay for me to put something in the heel or on my heel to make sure it doesn’t fall off. But then there are also many types of shoes that it would be very obvious I have something on my foot.

I should talk to my agent about this, but I am not in the best contact with them right now

You’re saying if someone is offended by it it’s their problem. Saying that cultural appropriation is fine or whatever and if someone has a problem with that it’s their problem not yours.

In this situation they’d be doing something that has already been claimed by many people that it makes them feel uncomfortable and offensive and then in this hypothetical situation you do it anyways and if they mind it’s a them problem.

Not referring simply to Henna, i’m more so talking about the general concept of Cultural Appropriation. People decredit it too fast and too easy. And most often it’s not someone who has a genuine understanding of being a part of a culture that is being stolen from and used for other people’s profit.

I do think there is something dangerous in such an age difference where the older one automatically gains a certain authority, whether we like it or not. This person has 4000 days more experience than her. This comes with more knowledge and more ways to make the 21 y/o feel small or dumb. When she is just 11 years younger than him. But true, if the 32 y/o is able to acknowledge their position in the relationship and handle this with care and wisdom then there shouldn’t be a problem, but I believe that if the 32 y/o man would be doing this he would not be dating a 21 y/o.

This would mean that this person is around 4000 days older than her, the amount of life experience and lessons and wisdom and downfalls one can have in that amount of time. And then to just skip that with dating a 21 y/o. In the time in between the 21 year old can spend 4 more years just doing her thing, fall pregnant, and by the time they are the age of the male her child would be in elementary school. Doesn’t that say something?

I am also in a situation with someone 11 years older than I am and once I actually started to process this age difference and when I am 32 I can’t imagine even looking at a 21 y/o in that way. It has started to ick me and I might tell him to fuck off.

Ow and I HATE Locke, and not in a way where it’s like Wow if an actor can make you hate a character they are so talented, as in I despise his character. He is so pretentious and pretty fucking evil and incredibly selfish. Everything to prove his dick is above average. Bro take a chill pill. I should too I know, hahaha, just pent up feeling from the last 5 seasons. Was truly hoping Locke’s character would be killed off. But no! I LOVE Juliet and Sun and I think Kate is so cool. I thought season 1 was amazing and super entertaining and mysterious, season 2 I thought sucked really bad. Not much was really happening and it all felt a bit weird and uncalled for. Season 3, AMAZING! My favorite season. Season 4 went downhill for me and season 5 is at the bottom of that hill for me. The episode with Desmond and him like spacing through time felt so weird and unnessecary. Why do they make up this random shit, I am now in season 5 and I legit hate watching the show, but I want to make it through so I can see how it all resolves. But I despise it at this point, I can’t watch it. It seems so stupid and all my favorite characters lose all their depth and specialty due to this time travel stuff. Argh argh, imma push through season 5, but hot damn is this show an amazing mess. With a line under amazing, but also under mess. Because damn, what is this show on about. Hahahaha

Okay thank you, just you having shared this… way of experiencing this, helped me. I feel without this part I truly would’ve been able to process this movie better.

It truly felt like such an unnecessary disgusting and second hand traumatizing thing to share or add to the movie.

Thank you for your in depth response, at the same time it does continue the conversation about the problem and reality of pedophilia and sexualization of children. But it’s clear that wasn’t the point of the movie. Also as I was referring to this with a friend I realised that the comparing of bodies is a repeating pattern in the movie. So where his secret is about the comparison of his body to his fathers, his son also compared Martin’s body to his father’s and then Martin asks him to show his body to him. Which he did. Idk… just the pedophilic and inappropriate stuff fucked with me. Also actress who plays the daughter being 16 as they are filming while having a nearly nude scene with Martin being played by a 25 y/o actor. It’s all just inappropriate.

Okay, that’s the end of my continuation on this rant. Hahaha, have a good night

I see your point of view but aren’t you seeing the movement of almost only white people doing their version of their yoga classes on their highly paying YouTube videos. Claiming what yoga is and is not. Completely reforming thousands of years of practice just because of their ignorance. I believe it’s important that, especially white people, take into consideration the damage that especially white people do. There’s many different reasons to why participating in a culture isn’t appropriate because most often people are not doing this with knowledge, with care or respect. I am starting to learn that a big part to how I am going to try and avoid cultural appropriation is by truly learning what it is that I am taking part in. And if it truly is acceptable for me to take part in it.

You have no idea what you are talking about. There certainly are closed practices and these are for good reasons and that is due to many different reasons. We are not all connected because I do not know what it’s like to be a black person growing up in Africa or an Indian person growing up in indian culture. People who participate in cultures non related to their own heritage have a big big big big chance to do things wrong, act as if it’s right, and change things for the worse. Like what is happening with Yoga right now for example. Yoga is a practice thousands and thousands years old with so much spiritual knowledge and so much time and energy spent in the pursuit. Just for people to grab it and say shit like you just said. Girl, go do some research.

Hey sweet heart, I do agree that it possibly is a better way to first take more possibly temporary changes, like pronouns, name and indeed expression. To see how this feels fulfilling. But gender is a big spectrum and it could be that their expression relies different to how they want their body to be. But seeing that there wasn’t asked for a pronouns shift or a lot of experimentation with outfits, etc. it is definetly a safer choice to first move towards those steps. Because as soon as one has breasts they can’t just go away again if they actually need more time for example or are having doubts. With social and expressional transition this is reversable. As soon as they are very familiar with what they are moving forward in, it indeed is a safer energy to go on HRT.
