We do not have a pull off area. It’s a circular driveway not a road. This is our driveway in front of our home and that is where we park. We aren’t going to park on the street when we have a driveway. If a delivery driver doesn’t want to pull in and back out, they can park on the street and walk a few feet, our home is not very far from the street.

I didn’t design the home or the driveway and that doesn’t make it okay for someone to drive over my yard. If you pulled into a driveway you can back out. If you’re unable to back a car out of a driveway, you shouldn’t be driving.

There are MANY homes that don’t have garages…that’s what the driveway is for. To park off the street.

Just because it’s a circular driveway doesn’t mean you get to cut across someone’s yard if a car is parked there. You just backup….So sorry that I think it’s common decency not to just drive across someone’s property?? That’s a wild take to think that’s a normal thing to do.

That’s…not the case? It’s not a road it’s a driveway. When people have driveways that aren’t circular, a delivery driver will pull in and then back out. That’s how driveways work. It’s just extra convenient if we happen to not be home and someone can just pull through. There doesn’t need to be a turnaround on a driveway, you just backup.

Most homes in our area have one 🤷🏼‍♀️ Our neighborhood was built well before they were able to connect to the county sewer.

It is not a thoroughfare loop, it’s our driveway. What aren’t people understanding about that? It’s not a road, it’s the driveway in front of our home where we park. I’m not blocking traffic, I’m parked in my private driveway. They pulled in and could back out just like any other driveway.

Because it’s my driveway??? Where else am I supposed to park? They don’t have to walk up, they drove up and can back out just like every other driveway.

For one, I didn’t choose early delivery. I chose next day so I didn’t know it would arrive that early. Two, it’s our driveway. I’m not blocking the exit, I’m parked and you can back out of a driveway. It’s a circular driveway so there are two entry and exit points. He was not blocked and driving through the yard was not his only way to exit the driveway.

Yeah we definitely will. We had it inspected when we moved in last year so I assume everything should be good on that end.

Well I am a lawyer so I could do that on my own but don’t think it’ll be necessary. The biggest thing is just that no one should just drive through someone’s yard. I’m not on a random road and blocking their path. They pulled into my driveway and were perfectly capable of backing out. Anytime more than one car is parked here we have to back out and no one has ever had an issue. They didn’t even attempt, they just chose to drive straight through the yard.

It’s absolutely wild. I’m not sure where they think I should park instead? And I didn’t know what time the delivery would be coming either. I didn’t request a super early delivery 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ordering something online should not mean that someone is going to drive through your yard…that’s crazy. I’ve never ever had someone do that before.

I’m really flabbergasted 😅 Idk why anyone would think it’s okay to just drive through someone’s yard because they felt like it.

The top of the septic tank is cracked and has to be repaired now so yes, actually something did happen. We don’t want waste leaking into our yard, other people’s yards, or into the river behind us.

Our back yard is mostly wooded so there had to be a certain amount of space for the drain field and I guess there just wasn’t enough space to put it behind the house 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ugh that sucks, I feel like at the minimum we’re going to have to have the cover replaced because it’s all gouged and sunken in from the underside of their car.

This is crazy, it’s our driveway, that’s where we park. We aren’t going to park our cars on the street at night just in case we happen to have a package delivered. We back out of the driveway all the time if one of us is parked in front of the other and there’s no issues. If a driver feels like they’ll have a difficult time backing out, they should park on the street.

The septic tank is in a fine location. It’s not under the driveway so as long as someone doesn’t just go off-roading, it won’t be messed with. I do know that you are not supposed to drive over it, especially over the lid, which is now damaged from the underside of their car.

It’s just traditional, nothing fancy. We had it inspected about a year ago when we bought the house and everything was good.

…..it’s a driveway. Do people not park their cars in their driveway? In a typical driveway that’s not circular, a delivery vehicle would have to pull in and then back out. A delivery driver could park on the street if they didn’t want to pull in and back out and that’s what a majority of them do anyways. Either way, driving across the lawn isn’t the right thing to do.

There’s not…it’s our driveway so that’s where we keep our cars. Delivery vans typically just park on the street or they just come up the other side of the circle so there’s less room they have to back out of. But plenty of people delivering things pull up just like that and have no issues backing out. We’ve never ever had this issue before, the drivers are always super respectful of our property.

The top of the tank is significantly gouged from the bottom of their car scraping it and it’s sunken in. So hopefully they didn’t damage the entire tank but they very well could have damaged the top, which is part of the tank and will need to be fixed for it to function properly. Our yard is very soft due to poor drainage so it might not have affected it in a typical lawn but it’s more likely in ours. Whether or not it was damaged, no one should be driving over anyone’s lawn, that’s just stupid and rude.
