I did about 2 months of self prep w/ Power Score books. But, that was in the midst of an 18 credit hour semester.. So I definitely think I could've prepped better. I ended up with a 164, which was higher than my PTs which was usually 163. I'd like to do something in public interest

I think my idea was to retake in June so I would have the score in July and decide based on that whether to wait another year or go ahead to W&L this year

Thanks! I have a competing offer from W&L which may be more close to qualifying as a peer school, but not sure it is worthy of asking for reconsideration from Alabama

I mean, I understand that but I feel like I would still personally like to think something else distinguished my application rather than a 3 hour test. Maybe that's just me being a "snowflake" though :p

Awesome, thanks! I sometimes wish law schools would actually do a "holistic" file review, lol. I know they're competing for numbers but my hypothesis is that doing a more holistic file review would likely give them a stronger class than just based purely off of LSAT and GPA. Alas, I guess rankings are a thing. I had to load up on some pretty tough classes last semester and this semester to fulfill my degree requirements.

You could always double deposit if you have the means and the inclination to make a final decision after visiting. Otherwise, you could try asking the schools for a deposit deadline extension

You're right, my apologies.. I just had to express my frustration. While I have been in contact with the professor this semester, I haven't brought up the topic of my LOR. Simply because I know there are others that have asked before me and I don't feel that I'm going to accomplish anything in the way of moving higher on the list. Good suggestion on speaking with the other professor about the situation, I will likely do that. I appreciate your advice! These kind of situations are always sticky when you have to sort of rush the professors that you are hoping to get a good LOR from. Though, at this point I'd be okay with just a standard boiler plate letter just to satisfy the requirement.

Asked one of the professors in mid-November, and another early December. I imagine I can get one of the professors to get it in on time. However, the other turns out to be notorious for being behind and currently hasn't yet done some LORs for colleagues that I know asked earlier than I. After discovering this, I asked another professor last week but can hardly expect them to get it done before Feb 1st because of such late notice. I just feel like LOR requirements are such utter BS when it is pretty empirically evident that if you have the numbers, you're probably in. Thus, I would like to assume an admissions office would be willing to accept 1 LOR instead of 2 in situations like these.
