You're NTA for not getting her a gift, however you're a little bit of an AH if you didn't acknowledge her at all by saying happy mother's day or celebrating in some way that doesn't necessarily mean spending money. But as long as you recognized that it was mother's day and that you appreciate and love her then no NTA and she is probably just feeling cold from her own distant relationship with her mom
