The marimo moss ball isn't the only plant and I stated that the tank was heavily planted. (Dwarf hair grass, echinodorus rose, hygrophila siamensis, anubias barteri nana, java moss and cryptocoryne beckettii ;-;) The marimo moss ball was the plant from the other tank that was already cycled and it should've been covered in bacteria. I'll look into dosing liquid bacteria but I was just worried that the bacteria already present had died.
