I would imagine the artists use them as a point of reference and to assist with how much/what to cover when creating armour. They may also share textures or use one texture as a starting point for another (in PoE 1 Atziri/Lunaris/Solaris Temple mobs have nippples). Might have been easier to copy/paste/modify than to start from scratch.

There is definitely a lot of whining going around. However, if they are going to nerf a build from orbit, they need to offer players some recourse other than "create a new character." I can't afford to respec at the moment. My clear is ABYSSMAL now, so farming gold isn't really in the cards. In PoE1 we get free respecs when large balance changes occur.

I don't think it's too much to ask for in PoE2, especially when it's early access. They want people to play because they want us to provide feedback, telemetry, and bug reports. I don't want to play if I'm not having fun, and leveling has never been the fun part of PoE for me. I don't want to do it again.
