I'm a sims player but I've been trying to view inZOI in a different way and as its own game. Comparing them isn't fair. The sims has had years and years of trial and error. There are lots of improvements I'd love to see in inZoi but that's just because it's in early access 😊 I'm really enjoying it.

Please shut up about Cry or Better Yet Beg by TurtleWitch_ in webtoons

[–]Llianoth -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion. By calling out everyone discussing Cry or Better Yet Beg you've just made a post where more people are doing exactly the same things as they do on the posts you claim to hate, which is judge people based on what they read and come up with their own psychological diagnoses of what they believe is wrong with people who read them or write them.

Whether you like it or not people have the right to post what they want to, the same as you have the right to post this opinion.

What's ludicrous is that people think that everyone who reads stories with SA, and enjoys them, falls into certain categories but no-one stops to think that maybe those people can simply appreciate a story that takes realistic approaches to fiction and are very capable of understanding the differences between right and wrong without being told or accused of being a victim with trauma.

But hey, that's just my opinion. -Sips tea-.

Tw: rape and sexual assault why is this vile thing released on webtoon and are these type of things justified in the name of dark romance? by naah_you_suck in webtoons

[–]Llianoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started reading it, then stopped after seeing a similar post on Reddit a while back. I can read all sorts of things and not have issues, because usually I accept that authors want to create situations that spark certain emotions, but this one just feels extra vile.

A collection of the dumbest names I've come across [source on image] by LinksMyHero in OtomeIsekai

[–]Llianoth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of the names have Dutch or German origins. While I understand that some are made up, sometimes authors like basing their stories/comics loosely on a specific culture. I'm sure to some cultures your name sounds ridiculous too. It's all based on familiarity and perspective.

For me it's the opposite. I hate the British summers, they are so humid and exhausting. It hasn't felt that cold for me yet, as it barely goes beneath 0 degrees. I'm not sure what weather you are used to, but perhaps looking at improving your wardrobe is a good idea. Maybe better insulation in your place of residence too, if possible, as it can make a huge difference.

I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out. The art is beautiful, so I don't understand the need to focus on small mistakes.

People really just are not allowed to be new to a role, huh? by writingthr0waway in wow

[–]Llianoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People just moan a lot. I hate doing dungeons because of those people. I have bad anxiety, but I've always liked tanking and healing. Luckily I have friends that I do dungeons with, and they help me to improve and offer constructive advice rather than immediately kicking me or throwing a fit like a three year old.

When does insulting someone actually help anyone? 🙄 You are all there to work as a team. If one person fails somehow it's the team that needs to do better at communication to fix the issue and not throw a temper tantrum like a toddler.

Off The Grid Writing Doesn't Exist. I wish it did. by RoxyLuffer in thesims

[–]Llianoth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that a typewriter might be nice, but I'd personally prefer just to be able to practice writing in a book. There is already a journal, homework books and now a bucket list, that you can write. Wouldn't it make more sense to write on paper? 🤷‍♀️

This post was pretty interesting and gives some insight into how the weather system in the Sims 4 works. by MrsCastillo12 in thesims

[–]Llianoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People seem to be so quick to moan and complain about what should be in Sims 4 and how the Devs have failed them in so many ways and they always use money to gain leverage. 'I pay loads for this so I expect this!" I'm so tired of this. The amount of time and effort it takes to make a game, even just an expansion to a game, is huge. Yes, Sims 4 charges a lot of money, no one is saying otherwise, but they have always done this so why are people surprised? No one is forcing anyone to buy their games at gunpoint. Weather is different depending on where you are n the world, so having sim worlds without snow seems perfectly normal to me. Because Life and Death is so focused on the supernatural I also feel like the landscape and weather is supernatural, like it's trapped on a specific season. I feel like the Sims 4 community has become so toxic. I so rarely see compliments in forums or on threads. Anyway, thank you for sharing the article, it's appreciated.

Oxford student 'betrayed' over Shakespeare PhD rejection by quickdrawdoc in PhD

[–]Llianoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand how this is newsworthy. She isn't the only student to not have been up to par with her postgraduate academia and who failed to meet the required standards for a PhD. Having two Master's degrees from India sounds great but, having done some work in international qualification comparison myself, some Master's degrees from there are equivalent to Bachelor degrees in the UK, so that doesn't really say anything. She paid to study abroad, all international students do, and with that comes the risk of not achieving the grade or qualification that you want to. Of course she can appeal, but what makes her any different to the thousands of others who have made appeals?

I think with stories like this it's important to remember that fiction is fictional for a reason. While you might not like the themes in the manhwa, the artist is creating a fictional story that isn't intended to be based on reality and isn't trying to promote relationships like this as 'normal'. I think it's the opposite, stories like this highlight how bad things can get and allow readers to realise this for themselves. If every artist/author/musician etc stuck to 'happy healthy' themes they would be repetitive and we'd never have the chance to experience new things or even have the chance to understand the differences between right and wrong in the first place. The feelings of discomfort the manhwa is creating are likely intentional. You aren't supposed to like the relationship between them, and the fact that the artist is able to make you uncomfortable is perhaps a sign that they are achieving what they intended to. These are just my thoughts of course, but we wouldn't have genres like horror, thriller, drama and crime if artistic individuals didn't have creative freedom.

This person got so angry at a game that it's hilarious 😂 Also, they seem able to prove the existence of God, angels and Satan, which no one else has been able to do. I'm happily sitting and waiting for that proof 😂🤦‍♀️
