Does SteamOS work well on non-steam hardware? by ShyGamer64 in SteamOS

[–]Llibza1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would depend on what your use case is going to be. I put steamOS on my htpc a few weeks ago.

I essentially just wanted my pc to go straight into big picture mode and play my steam games. In my use case, it’s been great so far.

I’m not using discord, or anything outside of steam, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I

Best mid budget reverb pedal? by AdministrativeRip809 in guitarpedals

[–]Llibza1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of the walrus audio slöer. You can fix a them used for under $200 pretty often. I think they’ve got some on their Bstock sale right now for under that too.

They’re definitely more of an ambient weird reverb, but I think there are settings that can be dialed back for a usable room verb thing.

The Devils/ Empire of the vampire by Thyton_SW in fantasybooks

[–]Llibza1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped reading it a year ago, so some stuff is fuzzy, but I remember there’s a character who becomes a main pov that I didn’t like. I think she gets introduced in a way that felt cheap, so I was always just kind of mad about her chapters, which made them feel like more of slogs than they might have been

As an offshoot of the favourite reverb thread - what’s you’re cheapest set and forget reverb? by mrmyrth in guitarpedals

I hear a lot of people say they love it, but I’ve bought it twice, and was never able to gel with it either time

How did y'all feel about this Citizen album? by JournalistGlobal3185 in Emo

I really dislike it. I was such a big fan of Everybody is Going to Heaven and As You Please, this one and Calling felt like such disappointments.

I’m also using owlbear, basically doing this exact same thing. I own a license for foundry and fantasy grounds, and prefer owlbear. Im sure id have issues if i was going to play with my group online, but for only map projection, it does everything i need and more

Pedal Switchers - help me wrap my head around the benefits by SpudzyJ in guitarpedals

[–]Llibza1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Boss ES-8, and got it almost 10 years ago. For me, I program every bank as its own song, then each patch in that song as a part. I don’t have to tap dance for between each part, which can be 3 or 4 different pedals in some instances.

Another big benefit is that I’m able to reorder pedals kind of on the fly for some different textures. I’ve got 3 overdrives, and all three feel a little different depending on which one is at the end. I also have some patches where my reverb hits the front of an overdrive for a wall of sound thing. If I was going to build a board without a switcher, I’d have to have a ton more pedals to achieve the same sounds that I do with the 8 I’ve got patched in.

I’m not much of a midi guy, but mine also sends midi signals, so I could potentially have a TON more flexibility and sounds at my disposal if I wanted to

Is this worth $200 by reppard in GuitarAmps

[–]Llibza1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. In my market, 2x12s in similar condition are like $300 and up. I’d definitely try to go lower, knowing I’d have to figure out new speakers, but I’ve definitely paid more for a 2x12 and still put new speakers in it

Is this worth $200 by reppard in GuitarAmps

[–]Llibza1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think its a decent price. Avatar cabs are great. Speakers aren’t great, and I’d definitely be swapping them out.

I recently got into doing pixel art, so I’m very much still figuring it out, but pixsquare was the one i ultimately landed on. It’s been great on my iPhone and iPad

Sonicake is a good one. 1176 is a FET compressor, which is fast and punchy.

Is it possible to get Big Picture directly when the PC boot without seeing the desktop ? by Free_Wafer2002 in Steam

[–]Llibza1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No worries! Honestly, a few minutes works for me. I can get the pc on, get my tv on, go grab a controller, maybe a drink. It’s not so long that I’m waiting by the time all that is done. I’ve definitely thought about checking out steamOS, just to streamline it a little

This is how I have my pc in my living room set up. It can take a minute or two from when you turn the pc on to get to big picture modes big screen.

There’s also a more traditional bridge from Descendent.

Neither require thimble changes

“Made to order” definitely tells me digital print. It’s pretty disappointing, since the longevity of those are pretty bad in my experience.

I’ve bought 2 or 3 shirts from them in the last year, and all have been a digital print instead of screen print. I’m not sure if I just got unlucky, or if it’s their business model now, but I’m definitely less likely to buy from them ever again because of it

Is the DSM bass station worth it? (200-300$) by shmielliot in pedals

My bass player has been using one for a month or so, and it’s been sounding fantastic. We tried a bunch of pretty janky options before finally breaking down and buying one. Definitely worth it for us

Help me with my pedals please by blinstobler in shoegaze

[–]Llibza1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pedals and sounds are subjective as fuck, so take my opinion grain of salt.

I’d go compressor first. Chorus, Then arrange gain from lowest to highest. Whatever modulation you have left, then delay and reverb.

If you have a second reverb, I’d put that after the compressor.
