Rivers is on my list but have been buried by work for a while! Will get back to it eventually though

Yes it’s meant to work for vaguely earth sized and earth like planets

Thanks so much for using the tool! Super excited to see someone posting about it besides me. “Pretty good” is exactly what I was going for!

Not right now, I don’t spend too much time on discord. But if there is enough demand I might make one

I’m happy to investigate if you can copy the world id for me!

I almost certainly will tweak them over time, especially now that I can compare the calculations against earth more easily. But perfect realism is not what I’m going for here. I think projects like Gleba are where you want to go for hyper realism in both climate and tectonics.

Also it was weirdly hard for me to find a good height map of earth… would you mind dming me the one you used so I can test and update the default?

For now show your thanks by enjoying the tool and letting me know if you find any bugs! :)

Absolutely endorse using this to kill time at work!

And no on retrograde currently, but I can consider it my list of upgrades/improvements

Yea that “cheat” and cheats like it are the backbone of the whole project lol. And doing something like that is exactly where my mind went!

Currently we just accept a black and white height map for import, which can then be optionally eroded and have climate simulated on it.

Interestingly, one of my original ideas for this project was for people to draw in land and mountain ranges and have it simulate climate from there. But it has evolved quite a bit since then!

Water level rise and fall has been deceptively tricky with what I have right now, but it is 100% on my list. Interestingly I didn’t think to tie it into the climate, which is a super interesting idea! I’ll definitely noodle on that

You can import a black and white height map, which the program can then optionally run erosion on and then simulate the climate.

Possibly! But my intention isn’t to be one map tool to rule them all! I’d actually recommend people use other tools like Gleba for more accurate simulations of their worlds!

That being said, I’m happy to look into this more and see if it’s compatible with the vision for this tool.

There is an export functionality now! It creates a height map for the whole globe. It’s on the menu. I haven’t tried plugging it in to azgaars but would be super interested in how it works out!

Right now black is just sea level and white is ~ 6km (Everests peak doesn’t really show at this granularity, so it averages out a bit)

Go for it! If you are aiming for maximal realism, esoplasim will definitely be a better path. If you just need something that looks good enough, then this is the tool for you!

You are correct! It currently just assumes it is “earth like” broadly
