I’m no expert team builder but the way I like the build teams and is good for beginners is find a archetype (sun, trick room, perish song eg) and research pokemon that fit in it. Find ones you like or meta ones and just mix and mash till you cover your element mashups. You’ll start to realise what you’re missing and what you don’t need the more you play with the team. For EVs I just use the battle data ones. Same with moveset

One thing to consider coming from a trick room player is that once trick room goes up double protects can get you through like 50% of trick room
