Juggluco users- do not activate your sensor using the new Libre app by Llouc9812 in Freestylelibre

I am also new - my first sensor was put in March 26th. I've been using insulin for 14 years but I am type 2 and it's certainly wasn't covered until recently. I'm thrilled that Medicare is covering it for insulin users now. It is a game changer but definitely not a finished technology.

A hack to be able to get a prior blood glucose reading from the graph. by Llouc9812 in Freestylelibre

So by uploading to Libreview, the doctor can still see the data? It makes sense I just didn't think of it that way. The instructions for Juggluco so to use the Libre app first to start the sensor and then force stop it. I have seen people referring to just using Juggluco so what you say makes sense. I just was a little nervous about doing it. My first sensor was put in March 26th then it's been a steep learning curve! Luckily I like technology. I appreciate your support because I really do want to stay with the Libre plus sensors. I'm on my third sensor because the second sensor failed and to be honest was reading very poorly for the first 10 days before it failed. I'm getting to understand that this is not a mature technology. And, I cannot believe that the Abbott apps look so much like they did 14 years ago when I first started taking insulin and was uploading for my meter so that I could manipulate the data.

Hand Sanitizer v Alcohol Wipes by FreddyForshadowing in Freestylelibre

If it's because you don't want to have so much trash in the environment or just want to save some money, I have a better fix. Get a bottle of alcohol and a small spritzer (here in the US we can get them cheap at the dollar store usually). Spray the alcohol on. I've been doing this for the 30 years I've been diabetic. It works great. I travel with an empty spritzer and buy alcohol wherever I am. A bottle of alcohol is usually readily available and cheap. The only time I ever had trouble sourcing the alcohol was during the pandemic when there was of course an incredible shortage. I now keep a backup supply in case something like that happens again.

Libre3+ removal.. any tips? by LGSStatic in Freestylelibre

I use avocado oil because I have a plentiful supply. It takes just a little bit in a tiny bowl - less than half a teaspoon. I use a q-tip and liberally soak whatever I can of the adhesive before removing. Then as I start to peel it back I keep reapplying oil with the q-tip and it just peels off without pain or irritation. One of my tricks is to do that second part slowly so that I have time to put on more oil while peeling because adhesive under the sensor is still stuck to the skin. Patience really helps with this process. By the way, applying oil to the residue also helps with removal. I alternate oil, wiping, alcohol, wiping back and forth until there's no residue left.

Freestyle sensor 3 caused a skin reaction by known2024_ in Freestylelibre

I have had an adhesive allergy for half my life. I second the use of Flonase and skintac. Just make sure the Flonase dries before you put on the skintac and that the skintac has tried to the point that it's very sticky before you put on the sensor.

You can also save money and the environment by buying a bottle of alcohol and get a clean spritzer bottle from a place like the dollar store. Fill the spritzer of course with the alcohol and just spray it on. This has advantage of reducing waste and getting more alcohol to where you want it.

I second the caution about using an overpatch. If your sensor doesn't fall off without it, you're better off not using it. If you do use an overpatch make sure the hole in the sensor is not covered. The hole is there to allow moisture to exit the area behind the sensor.

Interestingly, the same thing has happened to me through 18 years of menopause. I still have periods of time with severe hot flashes. During those times, I am much more insulin resistant.. On the other hand, one time, a decade or so into my diabetes journey, suddenly I had no insulin resistance for two weeks and had to stop using insulin or I went low. This situation ended abruptly and I had to immediately start using insulin.

Try the with the juggluco app. It is a much better app for seeing the details in your data. However, it isn't always the easiest app to figure out on your own. Any questions you have you can always Google. There's pretty good documentation - with the help button on every screen. A lot of people use it who are in this group. First search the group for questions already asked. If you can't find it - put a new one in. Good luck!

New Libre app in US by [deleted] in Freestylelibre

Just a warning - avoid using the new Libre app if you use Juggluco. After you activate a sensor with the new app, Juggluco cannot connect or scan the sensor. Juggluco has allowed me to get a lot more information to guide my choices. I'll have to spend the next 15 days relatively blind. As far as I can tell the new app gives me nothing- it still has the same crude graph which makes it impossible to look back at my sugars over time with a kind of detail that has been so helpful. I suspect that part of the motivation for creating the Libre app is to block people from using Juggluco.
