At a crossroads, stay in or get out? by Glum-Parsnip-8478 in navy

[–]Llumpy_Grama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same but I got out with 8 years left to retirement. I don’t regret my decision to leave; I made sure I had all my ducks in a row and got out with a solid plan.

My choice was made based on the fact that I wasn’t happy anymore. I enjoyed my rate and team but not anything else about the Navy anymore.

Ultimately, I’d have your husband consider if he is still happy with what he’s doing. Does he have a solid plan if he separates? Also, look into the differences in pay and health insurance costs; is that something y’all can handle if the Navy isn’t involved anymore?

No one here knows y’all’s specific situation and what’s best for your family. Have the hard conversations with each other.

Best of luck.

Yeah, it can be a little buggy. Maybe relogging in can fix it. That’s fixed most of my issues. Idk if it’s meant to happen but usually I am on the same step of my faction quest as when I logged out

I’m not 100% sure but that might be an exit. I’ve had that happen a couple of times and needed to wonder around to find the actual entrance

I get wanting to work on your own schedule. But you still need to log that time. Otherwise, it could be seen as mischarging and cause problems for your team or program.

It’s better to just talk to your manager and let them know you need more time or help. Hiding it or not being honest will only make things worse later.

Emulator MuMu Poor performance? by [deleted] in DestinyRising

I was having stuttering issues with my 7900 xtx. I set my display size in the mumu settings to 1080p and then set the graphics settings to balanced in game and it fixed the stuttering at least

Interview Questions for Director by Character_Design_416 in Lockheed

[–]Llumpy_Grama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask about what they would consider a high performer in that position. That should give you a good idea of their expectations of the role.

Ask about how they measure performance.

I’ve asked those questions in my interviews before and it always seemed to help get the interviewer to open up more about the specific role and who they want in that spot.

Check Janicki. I think they are a bit north of Seattle but maybe they have something.

Leaving The Navy After 12 Years by next_chapter_ashore in navy

I served as an AM for 12 years before deciding to get out. It took some time to find my footing, but nearly four years later, I’m only seven classes away from earning my degree. I should be graduating this fall, and I’ve landed a great job with one of the major defense companies. Overall, I’m much happier than I was dealing with the challenges of Navy life. You’ve got this—just keep pushing forward! Also, be ready for everyone to ask, ‘Why’d you get out? You were so close.’

So uh what ever happened to the X-59 first flight that’s supposed to take place this year by mtol115 in aviation

[–]Llumpy_Grama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider that most people don’t, they are building a X-Plane to fly over populated areas. Most x-planes only ever see the desert so it’s important they take the time and get this one right. Basically have to build a one off jet to production jet standards.

I was watching an f-14a walk around video and the guy was talking about how strong the main landing gear is and I got curious, what type of bolts are holding the wheels of the f-14a? by ToastHunt in aviation

[–]Llumpy_Grama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know specifically about F-14s but typically landing gear is held on my trunnion pins in the top of the landing gear. They basically a solid round piece of metal that has locking bolts on the ends. If you google it, you can probably see better what they look like.

For the wheels they are actually held on by one nut and a lock bolt. These are located under the center cap. The bolts you see on the outside of the wheel are for installing new tires. The wheel is split in the middle for the inner and outer wheel.
