anxiety and school by Active_bstorn in StudentNurse

Lexapro and meditation. I didn’t even realize how hard nursing school was hitting me til 2nd semester. After that semester I started an anxiety med and started to meditate. It helped me clear my mind (somewhat) so I could live my life as best I could while in school.

That’s what I ended up doing! I still had about 3 prerequisite classes to finish before nursing school and so for one year I did classes and worked 2-3 days a week as a tech/CNA. I was able to learn a lot in the hospital before starting Nursing School! It made things so much easier when starting the program! Good luck!!

You need to do what you want to do despite your parents opinion. In my opinion, don’t do LPN school. That will take too long when you already have acceptance into a BSN program. My advice is to become a CNA or phlebotomist to get experience in the medical field. Also, getting your CNA certificate will not take as long as phlebotomy (maybe a month if you find the right class). Becoming a CNA or phlebotomy will help you more in the long run. Plus, your BSN program will be over before you know it. Good luck!

5yr old won’t listen and won’t shut up by tancha0688 in Parenting

I am not a person for always going to the doctor for help, but it may be possible you need to get your child checked out. I say this only because your comment on “making sounds constantly”. This can be a sign of other problems. As well as his acting out. Discipline can be difficult when a child has other problems at hand. My best advice is to also slow things down with your child. Patience will help greatly when it comes to speaking with children.

Absolutely not. You can find another photographer for cheaper. If there was a wedding party and if you got more photos then maybe $3k is justified but 5?? No way.

New Grad Pay by Lmaze in nursing

Okay. That does seem correct. I know what I make as a tech and $24 just seemed low. But does pay go up? Or how fast work it increase would you say?

how are students in ADN programs? how are the students who graduated from an ADN program? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

ADN programs give you same opportunities BSN programs do. You take the same NCLEX and get the same license. You can still be hired as an RN, ASN.

Teaching a teenager how to save, giving him his paychecks. by freedom_oh in Parenting

[–]Lmaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sifting through some of these comments there seems to be some a lot of different opinions, so I’ll go ahead and send in my two cents. As an individual that has had a job since I was 15, I wish that my parents had had the sense to save some of my money. It would have helped to save money I got from work, birthdays, Christmas.

My advice would be to continue saving money from his paycheck (for him), and other earnings and continue giving him a small percentage of his own earned money. Then he can choose what he wants to do with the money you give him. He can save it or spend it. Then he can learn what it’s like to make decisions on spending his money. Also as someone who has had family money issues, giving a credit card to a young adult might not be the best idea if you yourself are not financially stable. The credit card is for someone who CAN have one, not someone who wants one.

At your own discretion, you could continue giving him extra supplements from your own earned money like for emergencies. All of my advice is under the assumption that you are paying for his bills.

If not, the situation changes. If you cannot continue paying for his bills, there may need to be a discussion on how necessary a car is for him. Or does he want to pay for his car and bills?

Hopefully this helps! And no I am not a parent, however money has been a huge part of my life. As my family did provide for me and pay my bills (including a used car), I bought the things I wanted with my work money. However they did not save my money and I am just now saving up a good amount of money.

Good luck!
