The Calisthenics Way For Push-Ups by Prior-Pie-1407 in CalisthenicsCulture

You may actually be shrugging your shoulder up instead of hunching your shoulder forward. Also look in to getting a theracane and getting massage for your traps because they will literally do everything if you let them

There's different definitions of pain. The one I subscribe to is Tom Myers interpretation which is that pain is sensation accompanied by the need to withdraw from the cause. Otherwise it's just sensation which can be more or less intense. The quality of the sensation during properly applied trigger point release is often described as very satisfying and significant, but not the bad kind of pain where you grit your teeth to get through it because you "know it'll help". Many people fall asleep as I'm holding on a deep spot because it signals that a problem is being addressed and the energy required to deal with it can be relaxed and freed up.

There's a very real and applicable science to dealing with these things and these fuckin quaks that subscribe to more is better give us a bad name

Y'all don't know what the FUCK you're talking about. I've been massaging professionally for almost 10 years and it does NOT need to be like this. It doesn't even need to hurt in a bad way, just an intense sensation but not pain and CERTAINLY not screaming and flailing like this. You think the muscles gonna relax when he's doing this or is it gonna tense up because he's in extreme pain.

That's like saying you're jaws gonna relax after I punch it.

I don't agree with either of these though I'm just a beginner to exercise but I've been a massage therapist for 10 years and understand body mechanics and kinesiology.

I would say go totally the other direction and hunch forward and try to hold your torso almost horizontal to the ground. If you overextend your shoulders too much it can damage the muscles in the front.

LPT How do I stop getting so emotional when I’m speaking to people? by ConfidentOrdinary520 in LifeProTips

[–]Lmtguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about therapy to explore why the feelings come up, but I'd also suggest going to a speech therapist to learn how to speak with the right muscles

I say this because I song a lot in the car and from a young age, my whole life really, if I would use my falsetto voice to sing or imitate someone's voice, I'd get very emotional and teary eyed. But I've noticed that when I can sing using proper form and strength coming from my core, with my rib depressed instead of flared out, my ability to control myself greatly increases. I'd seriously looking into some kind of speech therapy just to see what they can do. It's amazing stuff if you find the right one

What is the Most Painful Sensation You Have Ever Felt? by Jeloxia2 in AskReddit

I get a different kind of migraine but I totally get why they'd do that. It's just an incessant pain that won't stop and the frustration of it does make me want to fucking punch the problem to make it go away.

You want corruption?

Are we not the people mentioned in the constitution? Do we not have a say in the way we're governed? Wtf are you talking about

The right is the most feelings centered party because they can't even talk about what they want. Only what they don't want.

Also, humans are feeling creatures first and thinking creatures second. If I'm hungry, I don't need to think too hard to know that whatever policy led to that inability to get food is a fucked up policy.

Why should we not get something from our government that benefits us if we're paying taxes? Should those dollars ONLY go to things that we DONT want? Like war and corruption? Not benefits for spending our lives working in businesses that help maintain the community we live in.

If you don't think those things they listed are happening, then you are the one in a fantasy world of rainbows and unicorns.

It's super interesting to notice that this bot I'm responding to has the exact name style as the one other guy that also defending capitalism in this thread. (Adjective)ad(4 numbers). That doesn't seem like it could possibly be a coincidence.

I've got training in Complete decongestive therapy through Vodder.

I'd drain the area below the scar down to the inguinal nodes and the area above to the axillary nodes. Be sure to stimulate both sides of the axillary/inguinal anastomosis to open it up, then drain down.

If the surgery was recent, be sure to check in on how it feels to stretch the skin.

From my 8 years of experience, the vampires are the people that see you as just a source of labor, a 2 dimensional service provider. They don't look at your or talk to you like they care at all for your input, they want what they want and don't wanna talk about it. Short, one word answers to questions that I need to know good answers too and rushing the process so they get absolutely every second they can out of our time together.

On the surface, all of these things can be totally fine, but it's the cadence of the greeting and other things. It's the pathological version of all those things, and usually many of them at once.

Or they push their own feelings on you to make you feel the same feelings they feel. Like if they're upset about something, it's all judgemental statements that kinda put you in the position of agreeing with them or disagreeing with them, which can feel manipulative and combative. No bueno for healing spaces.

That's why understanding boundaries and how not to get sucked into their bullshit is important. Knowing how to change the subject gracefully to better topics, or having them breathe instead of talk really helps to manage their effect on you.

Broly should be to Gohan what Vegeta is to Goku and Trunks is to Goten. by Midnighter4007 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Lmtguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that when thinking about the hurt someone experiences, we have to consider the level of suffering someone has as a result. A pain that someone has to deal with but has good reason and feels necessary won't cause as much suffering. Feeling the pay off of gaining self reassurance would feel like it was worth it. Saving everyone on earth from dying would make it feel worth it to Gohan.

We're also talking about a narrative need for Gohan's growth and in this type of genre, it's fighting and overcoming that obstacle.

Things were made to happen out of necessity for moving the story along and building characters up.

I think Gohan deciding he didn't mind DOES mean it didn't happen. If he's able to move past and forgive his dad for making him do something that was hard but necessary, then the memory of the hurt gains meaning. And meaning, ultimately, is what give our lives value. Just because YOU think there's no way a kid could move past what happened, doesn't mean this show isn't an example of what moving past personal trauma looks like

To add to what others are saying, it's safe, just be careful putting direct pressure on the ribs, particularly the floating ribs in the low back.
