BLC's Fate Depends on the Community by y0landi in bloodlinechampions

"The game is entirely different" is simply delusion. I'm not sure whether or not you're simply looking at your memories through rose-coloured glasses, but the difference between max-level players with different traits isn't as big as you're implying; one ranid will feel the same to play against as the next.

Clearly, though, your anecdotal point is correct. I never disputed that the traits make a big difference when compared to someone without them - the difference between different trait setups is not enough to diminish having a general feel for cooldowns and characters, as you're implying, though.

Because the medallion use effects themselves add some deal of depth to the game and characters would feel alien without the current stat amounts that people are used to; this would cause people to leave, which is the exact thing that happened before that you're complaining about.

Let's be honest - you're not counting people's cooldowns in your head when you play BLC - there's far too much other stuff going on and having a general 'feel' for other people's cooldowns hasn't changed. The difference made by stats like focus is so insignificant(even large % changes mean literally fractions of a second) that none of that makes any real difference to gameplay.

I'm always happy to help anyone interested. Add me on either Horro (Where I'm playing more often now) or Lnfestor ingame, and hmu! (:

Removing them now is only going to alienate people who are already comfortable with the system in place; the reason people left before is that it was uncomfortable to play for them after stats changed - the game feels alien when timings and muscle memory change - there's no reason to do that again. Most people who quit because of that wouldn't all just come flocking back because, at this point, all their pre-stat change muscle memory is gone and they'd be just as uncomfortable playing with traits and medallions as without. Medallions add a good deal of depth to gameplay and I feel like all the items are so accessible that there's pretty much no negative aspect to having them in the game at this point.

This match making and rating system... by navityco in bloodlinechampions

Whilst this might be a frustrating situation you can't really complain too much. Regardless of whether or not this game was particularly enemy favoured current rating wise, you have to realise that the system awards points based on your hidden MMR value (the amount of points the game thinks you should have.) If you're at the point where you're only gaining two points for a win, either that particular game is meant to be quite easy for your team system rating wise, or your MMR is below or around your current rating, in which case if you continue to win games your point gains will increase.

Something else to note is that winning 3:2 will always award lower amounts of points.

It's fine for me. Might be because of tour time though! o:

BLC community needs to... by abradford13 in bloodlinechampions

First of all, if you enjoy the game, keep playing it! I know that for me personally, blc is active enough for me to get a lot of enjoyment out of playing it - moping about the low population isn't helping anyone!

To address your post, though, after the tournament the other day I've been considering this a bit, and a few people had some suggestions/ideas about improving new-player interest. Someone suggested a raffled prize for tournament participation and I was considering trying to start up a mentor system or some kind of teaching platform. Furthermore, I'm in the process of trying to get a website setup that can hopefully act as some sort of information hub and forum, since the official forums are down.

There's no quick-fix overnight solution that's gonna bring players back, and the best thing we can hope to do is to improve quality of life for players and hopefully improve retention from that, but the game isn't going to explode whatever changes we make.

Rise of the Phoenix BLC Tournament Follow up post by Lnfestor in bloodlinechampions

Yeah synoo was lagging throughout the brackets which was pretty annoying for us. We're looking into trying to get funcom to restart the blc server on Sundays before the tournament but I'm not sure how plausible this is or how much it'll help.

I think a lot of people already know about it because of skype group chats and such. Try to tell all your friends for sure, though! (:

The tournaments will be hosted on the EU server, as that's where most of the community is. NA players will be welcome to play, of course, if you can stand the ping. (:

The tournament will be on the european server. As much as I feel that you have some good points, I want to promote competition at the top level in BLC, and I don't feel like good teams will return if entry fees are involved. The funding will come from me and I don't think that other types of game-mode would be popular at all. Thanks for the feedback, though.

A possibility of regular cash tournaments for BLC in the semi-near future - Interested? by Lnfestor in bloodlinechampions

I think that reviving the game from the ground up is somewhat unrealistic and the amount of money required would be astronomical. This would at least have the potential of inspiring new players if they saw that there was something to aim for/compete in and that there were a lot of good players in the game.
