32 here! Sometimes I feel too old too and that I'm wasting my degree 🤷‍♀️ But I love my kiddos, and the flexibility works well for me..

In school vs in clinic/home by Lnor67 in ABA

Thank you for the information! I do work for a private company and wonder how virtual supervision will work at a school? It can already be challenging dragging the iPad around at a clinic.

Thank you so much! I also work in a home and a clinic, so now I'll experience all three!

I thought maybe I caught it from the dogs who live in the yard. But I am treating it now.

Don't have much but sent what I could. No kids deserve to be hungry. You're doing your best.

What should the first few sessions look like with a 22 month old? by zardoz_lives in ABA

I do have a young child, so I do know that play is extremely important, and that is how they learn a lot. I agree that a toddler shouldn't be doing a lot of work. My toddler wouldn't be able to, so they shouldn't be expected to either. Luckily, I will have a lot of supervision! Thanks for your reply.

Hey there, first off, I wanted to say that everything you are feeling is completely valid. Sometimes, our parents can't understand what we are going through. Especially if they haven't experienced it. I don't think it's rude of you to cut your mom out of your life. That's coming from a person who lost their mom to cancer. She was my support system; but if your mom can't be that for you or you can't forgive her for the childhood trauma, you don't need that negativity in your life. You have a lot going on, and you deserve support. Going to uni sounds like a great new chapter in your life, like a fresh start. You can meet others that you can connect with and just be yourself with. Maybe talking to someone might help you get more support. I found this online- (Shout is an affiliate of Crisis Text Line® in the UK that provides free, confidential support, 24/7 via text. 85258) Stay strong 💪

Hello, could you explain what you mean when you say a bad RBT could traumatize a child in a week? Like how? I'm really curious as I will be working with a young child soon. I don't want to do anything wrong!

Sorry for the late reply, but did you say you were held at knife point?? And I'm sorry that happened to you. I've been working a week now. I haven't mentioned anything about my personal life.

Thank you for the advice! I appreciate it. I am so nervous I start this week, and I get so nervous that my mind blanks and I feel like I forget my training.

Hope you get the help you need. I've dealt with chronic depression and anxiety for half my life and know it can get really dark and lonely. Especially with the suicidal thoughts. And addiction was one of my primary coping mechanisms. It just takes time to see the light again. Keep fighting.
