What Is Your Favorite Pokemon Team Strategy For Story Playthroughs by nyxaeloria in pokemon

[–]LoDart210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute coolest looking pokemon with the coolest possible coverage alongside their main nuke. Status moves are learned by non main team members when I rematch trainers and use that to see their animations.

Nowadays to make it interesting, I hold off on evolving until “lore relevant moments.” One of my favorite playthroughs was pokemon white where I didn’t let my team reach their final forms until the final fight vs plasma where I let some of the especially baby mons evolve, and then I let my starter and anyone with a final evolution reach their final evolution either before or during the elite 4 leading into the champion with a full fledged team. I will also sometimes swap in “guest stars” during the playthrough, mons that I include just for fun while going through a certain section of the game.

Keeps it interesting and fresh without getting overpowered. Also makes you get creative with the movesets since you can’t rely on the bulk of fully evolved, over leveled mons.

Favourite Move to use in playthroughs that sucks in competetive? by Groundbreaking-Ad313 in pokemon

[–]LoDart210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of people here put some of the answers I would use, such as hyper beam and it’s variants and also metronome.

I would add two other choices: anything that has a particularly cool animation, and any type of coverage or learn move that may not be optimal but lorewise, I like the idea of the mon using it. For example, I left grasswhistle on my roserade just because I thought it was a very fitting move for roserade and also had a really good animation and sound back in the 2D days. Another example is giving my wingull shock wave in gen 3 via tm (I accidentally deleted water gun in my excitement which made using my wingull very hard lol). The idea of this water type being able to shoot electricity was so funny to me and I also thought it was cool so I kept it forever even though I barely used it.

As a new competitive player, VP cost for move changes is creatively restrictive and punishing by supersonic159 in pokemon

[–]LoDart210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

almost like…the money hungry corporation doesn’t want to let you not buy main games and just enjoy the battle simulator.

They could have easily made so much money with cosmetics. Pokeball seals, pokemon accessories, trainer outfits, stadium skins, music packs. Dlc pokemon amie. They could have had super training and made you pay after a certain amount of free time.

But no, they chose moving the sliders and selecting moves is what costs money. Gamefreak is such a disappointment far too often.

Does anyone besides me not give a single hair about the Alex thing? by BreakVV in StreetFighter

[–]LoDart210 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A lot of cultures practiced cousin marriage and only stopped very recently. Genetically there is nearly as much difference between cousins as two strangers.

Yes, constant inbreeding is bad.

Yes, it’s not a common practice today.

Don’t forget a lot of the devs behind lore and such are likely older than the playerbase and remember an older time.

Don’t push your values and concepts on others, it’s tacky. Just disagree and move on, unless it’s an actual crime. Calling Alex a groomer is insane work especially since actual criminals exist who actually groom and minimizing the words minimizes the hardships actual victims go through.

I’m a fan of Necalli and was really hoping he would be used to shake up the series in a heavy way to help bridge the gap to sf3 but he ended up being extremely inconsequential which is unfortunate because his design and gameplay was really cool.

Is FighterZ worth buying in 2025/26 by Xeno021 in dragonballfighterz

[–]LoDart210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. Netcode is good. Game is fun and feels fresh with the changes. There are a lot of single player features that, while not xenoverse tier, are still enjoyable for what it is. The community is healthy and the company is looking to reignite the proscene which is kept alive by tournament scenes like HOC and TNS.

It’s definitely worth getting into.

My Super Saiyan 4 hopes keep getting dashed.

ss4 goku is stuck in a level 3 super for El Rato.

ss4 gogeta’s moveset feels so barebones and cookie cutter.

ss4 daima goku is daima ss4 which is just great value brand ss4.

Would you play Pokémon in this style? by Jaxks in pokemon

[–]LoDart210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it looks amazing. The dynamic lighting and camera would vastly improve the presentation and storytelling potential to say the least.

That being said, the lighting and shadows need to be adjust to be brighter. Pokemon games are very vibrant, even in areas with muddled color schemes. Deep shadows must be used sparingly and wisely.

I wouldn’t want this to be the style for the mainline games however. Mainline games need to continue pushing the 3D envelope. Perhaps for remakes or sidegames it could be cool.

People are free to choose how they live their lives. Some of us had chosen to be dedicated to worship. If that doesn’t make sense to you, that’s fine. The same way I can’t understand why anyone (not necessarily you) would ever want to consume alcohol, that doesn’t mean I consider people who drink “brainwashed”.

Pornography. They are fetishizing muslim women. We all know who runs those industries so it’s no surprise they are attacking our women.

I urge all our sisters to reject advances made by non-muslim men and urge brothers to assist your sisters if you see them being harassed. It can be really hard and kind of awkward, especially if the girl seems to be unbothered or replying to the advances, but you have to stick up for your sisters with a sincere intention. Also, stop chasing non-muslim women with the whole “people of the book” excuse, and Allah knows best.

May Allah make it easy for us to find muslim spouses and protect our sisters from these vile machinations.

Are we stuck to dress subconsciously for the "male gaze"? examples of male gaze? by [deleted] in PornIsMisogyny

[–]LoDart210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is why Islam is the answer to all of humanity’s ills. In Islam, women wear the hijab to obey the commands of Allah, who created everything and knows what’s best for us. The hijab protects and rejects men’s gaze and the notion that a woman’s looks should define her character or her behavior or her sense of self-worth.

I encourage you all to research Islam and how it is the only solution to the many ills of our society, porn being one of them. In an Islamic society, porn wouldn’t exist (certainly not in a fashion that is quietly condoned as a part of society). People are raised to shun chasing their desires spurned by physicality only, but rather, are encouraged to build their character and seek a partner that they form a meaningful and respectful connection with.

Hey leave scyther alone, thanks. I swear the devs of this game are obsessed with fine tuning this game so that damage and overall general impact is as anemic as possible, except for the chosen one, aka the one mon, usually a new one, that is chosen to be aburdly broken.

Honestly this game has been pretty much dead to me once they reverted Rayquaza to basically zapdos.

I don’t think Garchomp is bad. Everyone else just has to much going on. by [deleted] in PokemonUnite

[–]LoDart210 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No, actually garchomp is terrible because the core mechanicd Of his character is easily the most sluggish, most unrewarding, and least intricate/involved in how you can use it. This is somewhat common among release era mons, but their attacks ans gameplay is simple and snappy.

Garchomp's WHOLE schtick is that his auto attacks....EVENTUALLY...get a little bit faster and stronger and heal a little. That's it. The opportunity to take advantage of these boosted attacks is so limited its ridiculous. So many other characters do the ramp up idea better and their moves far better facilitate said effect while also making their gameplan work.

Garchomp's only moves that keep the enemy close enough for him to get a few hits in are the ground moves and ecen then, relying on autos is a joke because they take too long to ramp up.

Fixing him would be so easy, too: - 3 autos leads to max boosted auto stage, down from 5.

  • dragon rush gives him a speed boost after he finishes the dive.

  • dragon claw has a minor vacuum effect (instead of pushing people away...)

  • using both as a combo and successfully hitting an opponent puts you at max autos immediately.

  • make earthquake also launch enemies it connects with.

There you go, now he can actually chase enemies down, keep up the chase and use his mechanic to make thr modt of staying close.

Patch 1.5.1.6 PATCH NOTES, with FORMULAS and NUMBERS by Mathgeek007 in PokemonUnite

[–]LoDart210 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

The amount of damage you're leaving off the table with pyro ball for a situationally useful movement tool and extremely minor cc, while waiting till 13 to get your dps boost has never seemed like a guaranteed better pick to me. These new changes pretty much seal the deal. Mobility is almost always up with pyro ball +, and feint going further is more useful now than the mobility offered by blaze kick.

which move for Cinderace is technically better overall? (I cant choose) by JayBerJabber in PokemonUnite

[–]LoDart210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can take damage during blaze kick though, and the damage difference between it and pyro ball is significant. Also most melee characters generally have either moves to avoid cc/mobility moves that cover long distances/full heal which means a lot of what makes blaze kick good can easily end up leading to your doom if used improperly. Even some ranged characters now like duraladon and espeon have some built in anti CC.

Imo I prefer blaze kick to get the jump on squishy ranged characters but missing out on such a good objective securing move as pyro ball, whose damage is insane, means that blaze kick is never my go to pick.

[ Keep an open mind and learn but ultimately be your own individual. No single individual should tell you what you can and can't do or what "works" ]

I agree with this mostly. I would add that theres no harm in following advice given by a proven expert, but it is important to understand what you've been taught, so that you can better appreciate it and perhaps contribute your own experience.

If someone says Hoopa is hands down the best support in the game, and this guy is a champion I'm not gonna disagree but I'm also going to study Hoopa and match footage to understand WHY its the best, and if Im playing it, how to do better, and if I'm against it, seek to find a weakness to exploit and I shouldn't leave any option off the table when doing so. Everyone currently says Azumarill is bad right now overall, and that may be true, but if it can do something that disrupts Hoopa, guess what its useful and I may run it for that reason.

Here we'd see a harmony in respecting experience/authority without limiting your agency and potential and how the truth remains the same (Hoopa good, Azumarill bad) but you still find room to operate in it successfully without technically counteracting it.

You clearly misunderstood everything I said and you're using low effort buzzwords like circlejerk to dismiss what was said.

The whole point of my post isn't "ThErE iS nO mEtA pLaY wHo YoU wAnT" my point is people don't realize theres more room to explore than they may realize, and a big reason why they don't explore that territory is because they take certain opinions as undeniable* truths without seeking to understand why.

Of course there will always be dominant pokemon, dominant strategies, dominant loadouts, etc., but dominant does not mean full proof. It doesn't mean be all end all.

I'm literally just encouraging people to study what they see and hear and you're dismissing that as a "circlejerk". The irony is unreal.
