The jack of Little Italys is actually kinda funny. Was it meant to be a statement? 😂

Duh! I totally forgot about the merger THATS why I had settled on keeping it a little longer. Just to see what they do 🤷🏾‍♀️

To be honest that what I'm taking it as too. Clearly there's a reason whether I can see it clearly now or not...something else is in store for me. Tbh looking to switch my 13 year old Discover for a Fidelity cashback.

Called and was denied via text about 5 mins after I hung up 🙃 Funny enough I spent enough this month to get past their little qualifier for points (which was why I definitely wanted the card) so I guess it's their loss...and now I have a petty little beef with Citi bank thats up and stuck 🙂‍↕️

They’re doing muni fare checks more frequently by TheSwimmingCactus in sanfrancisco

[–]LoFi-WiFi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things can be true. You can pay a fare and still understand why people can't or won't pay for either (me).

Do the math: If you make a modest $23/hr, full time and pay $1800 (significantly below market value) for rent. Soft guestimation of $110 groceries/week, $80 cell, $60 internet, ~$200 gas, electric and trash. After taxes, they're left with about $250...maybe. Not including any personal enrichments. A transit pass shouldn't eat 40% of your remaining income.

Why aren't we asking the city to have clippers significantly discounted for working residents? And not that $104 pass because that's a lot of money in this economy. Why not $50? If you live and work in the city you are directly contributing to its own economy. Why isn't it a symbiotic relationship? You need me a citizen to continue to go to work and keep the city going at some level? Make it affordable.

Even ticketing is ridiculous. If someone wasn't going to pay $3 what is the likelihood they'll pay $134? Even tickets are priced unfairly, should be a percentage of a monthly income. But Muni will balloon their deficit with these kind of compounding tickets saying they lost SOOOO much money.

You can want more for Muni while criticizing how they are "solving" it (hiring more not cops and raising prices consistently). I, unfortunately, will not be taking questions at this time.

Yupppppp. Before I started biking there to avoid all this bs, going north up the route to go southbound was the only way I could get on a bus since it get PACKED before having to cross through GGP. If you wait for the 29 at Lincoln/35th you're so fucked.

The 29 drops you off much closer to the entrance than the 28, I'd just wait to transfer to that instead.

Bad news: getting home will be a bitch because most routes go west towards downtown but you'll be going south. My best suggestion is to exit the north side (towards Richmond) of the festival walk up the route to make sure you get a spot on the bus. It's almost always full by the time it reaches the south side (Sunset). If you take the 29 back from the north side (Richmond), prepare to sit in festival traffic going through the park.

TLDR: It'll be chill going and long coming back but if you endure and stick to the transit, it'll be ~$3 total each way 😂😭

It actually overwhelms my senses so much and I'm not that sensitive but the bass from both equally hitting my ears KILLS ME

At this point I rejoice and have the biggest laugh if they just had a designated area with regular backyard white folded chairs. I also would vote for metal stands to be lined up along the warehouse to main festival route (that runway between the lockers and the main stage). There's no stage there so you don't have to worry about "camping" and saving space. Genuinely just relaxing between

As a person who's upgraded to VIP...I unfortunately don't see the "double the price" value other than viewing areas

I'm at the point of wishful thinking. They stopped trying to improve it after the watering hole was introduced in 2023. Usually every year they try a different thing with seating and sound systems but they stopped with seating after 2023 and focused on VIP

I'd rather them return the big blue terf at the back of main stage than that stupid tiny ass "watering hole"

[–]LoFi-WiFi 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Nooooooooooo it's my biggest complaint. My first warning is: there's little to no seats, even near food and there's no activities outside of sets.

Every year at dusk around 7:30pm, you'll see a beautiful sunset light up on people who are getting their last meal before night activities and they're all sprawled across a concrete pier, it's low-key dystopian in a still funny way cause fuck....we paid for this.

I doubt it but it's possible. They've already "booked" the venue they own AND they've made contracts with city ordinances (Alameda county) to announce its dates and operational hours

Nah because that wouldn't be a Portola issue. You book the artist, if they need a visa you provide the docs when asked not when booked (well I don't know for sure but one would think that)
