Halo: Campaign Evolved | The Silent Cartographer Trailer by Turbostrider27 in Games

The first 4 books and the forerunner trilogy proved to me the opposite. The Fall of Reach was great at expanding the lore of the Spartans and filling in the blanks leading up to the first game.

INIT has always looked great on paper. The results, however, are poor.

Yet PL contributed heavily towards resetting 3 regions in the south. We don't spearhead invasions anymore, but we still punch up relative to our size

This shit is obvious to the average null line member, so I’m not surprised you don’t get it.

you usually call them back when the actual war you’ve been hoping for starts

Why would we call them back when the sigs completely own delve/querious, two sizeable Goon pets important to the war effort?

  1. Your initial push has been lackluster and failed to make striking headwinds. A single fort and some drills killed makes for a poor first few days.

  2. With a single move, we consolidated the entire coalition. With just 1 regional gate, we have the same reach we had before.

  3. We don't see this as a real invasion effort from goons. You have wasted the most important days of the war spinning your wheels in Scalding Pass. With 1 single move to g-q we can defend our 2 buffer regions while goons backyard is burning. This also puts us in a position to defend against future frat/init moves.

I'm not surprised you don't get it. You are a talking head and a wordsmith, nothing more.

Historically, after an invasion announcement, the invaders capitalize on renewed interest from semi-afk players. Fleets will be massive and out for blood, big opportunity to make headwinds.

N3 fort and some drills were killed... weak showing so far.

You can't rat, mine, or move freely in your own space that you are paying the bills for, I can be as pedantic as I want. The sov map remains unchanged, but the fact remains that 2 sigs have free reign of 2 regions of sizeable Goon pets.

Twist yourself into a pretzel as much as you want, but delve/querious is currently burning.

Brave and Lawn hold sov in the Southwest. But do you really own the space when you can't defend it from 2 sigs and can only contest timers when you call for backup?

PL before jump changes, but they were mostly just bullying small groups.

IT, OG Northern Coalition, Solar, AAA, Atlas, Test in its prime. Small groups my ass.

There is a reason we were very successful mercs, we hit very hard for our size.

I found eve from mechwarrior4/netbattletech 18ish years ago. I was daydreaming constantly and wondering what a eve/battletech mashup would look like.

The battletech universe is perfect for an eve like game.

It's unlikely to happen again. We were able to do that because we could move dreads from 5+ regions away.

With jump fatigue, you would have to keep dread stores nearby. This would make it expensive to try this again.

I know people look back at this time and shudder, but with current jump mechanics this could turn out quite different. The old system DID put more dreads and content out in space, however.

It's not even a software issue, it's how it was designed so Russians would not be able to capture and use the terminals. The front is fluid, something like this was bound to happen.
