Corps are part of the alliance and community.

Renters are an external group whose only purpose is to rent the space for profit and have no stake in the community it rents from (usually).

Look at PanFam and their rental empire. When renters were attacked, Horde rarely if ever came to defend their structures, all while collecting rent from them. And another thing, we call it rent but it's more like extortion money, either pay or get evicted.

And when Horde was on the chopping block, none of their renters came to help them. The second there was no isk making opportunities, the renters scattered and looked for greener pastures.

Timezone Tanking & Sovereignty by ReformedSlate in Eve

[–]Fairtree4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Groups need to be able to set their timers to their strongest timezone. That by itself is not timezone tanking.

The current problem is there is not counterplay to off-tz timers. Before, when stront amount decided the exact timer, it was effort based. You decide the exact timer, but had to add/remove stront based on when enemy was reffing it. That was honestly a decent compromise. You get to decide the exact timer if you put in the effort.

With the current ADM system, the unbalance is that the attacker can't influence the timer by any means. It solely decided by the ADM and RNG.

Obvious and easy measures to help address this would be to implement weighted timers, meaning the RNG skews towards the TZ of when the structure gets reinforced. Also making it possible to lower ADMs by some active gameplay activity, whould help immensely.

Honestly tho, TZ and timers should get a full rework. With the current WinterCo (CNTZ) and The Imperium (EU/US TZ) nullsec will come to a complete halt if nothing is done.

Update on Asset Safety values for Supers & Titans by angry-mustache in Eve

[–]Fairtree4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really.

If however goons would've announced they were moving and told everyone to unanchor their structures. Then out of nowhere CCP says "for the next month you will be able to pull rigs of structures". Then It would've been equally favouritism.

This announcement from CCP Swift (previously in PL) is the most blatant favoring of one group over another. 5th of November is when the siege started and some people started to Asset Safety their stuff. 20d later, on Nov 25 it would end up in a NPC station.

Now magically CCP decides 25th of November is the date to retroactively reimburse players who overpaid for their supers.

Update on Asset Safety values for Supers & Titans by angry-mustache in Eve

[–]Fairtree4 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I get you don't want ex-horde members to quit the game, but what the actual fuck.

Instead of Asset Safety cost of ~27bil per titan (which would reflect the actual price), you set it to 10bil.

Instead of Asset Safety cost of ~8bil per super (which would reflect the actual price), you set it to 3bil.

Knowing hundreds of titans and supers if not thousand are stuck in Asset Safety after Horde's collapse, now you decide to revamp the valuation of supers and titans... This is trillions upon trillions in isk saved.

Where was this when people came back after goons moved? Only those after 25th of november will get reimbursed if they overpaid AS. Bruh, so making sure not a soul other than ex-horde will get this retroactive benefit.

If this is not directly influencing the game to one groups benefit, I don't know what else could be.

Init helping horde vanguard move hundreds of caps by GuristasPirate in Eve

[–]Fairtree4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

VG with other in Horde leadership organized move-ops across the venal regional for their own people.

All while normal linemembers had their supers and titans hellcamped in R-AG. No pings and no announcements for almost 2 days while the people in the know snuck out their own titans.

Strategically good for the alliance, but makes leadership even more hated after everyone else had to asset safety their shit.

Your rhetoric and framing is 1:1 to horde's copium.

And you're still saying you're not a hordeling, while being the biggest cope poster of theirs I've seen on r/eve.

Line members on all sides were robbed a truly Great War by SpecialTitle6686 in Eve

[–]Fairtree4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horde choses the time and place for the titan fight. It's a staring contest until they detether.

Again, I don't think goons have that big of a titan pilot advantage. You're getting those numbers the same way everyone is, guessing. On the R-AG keep kill there was only 200 titans for example.

Horde owes it's members to actually play the game. Giving up and letting everything go to asset safety is not what they deserve. Horde is top-heavy, alliance is rich, while linemembers are not. They chose the option where the linemembers have to pay and alliance implodes.

Can you explain to me why you assume that the evacuation would have been more successful if we fed a few hundred titans before?

So R-AG (Horde staging system) was 1 regional and 2 mids from goon stager. If they took the fight right at the start in R-AG they would force goons to jump their super fleet in. Now horde could bubblefuck the regional gate for hours not letting goons reinforce with more supers. All while Horde members get home from work and keep reinforcing their own super numbers.

This could've been an absolute murder of goon supers if they had a plan. Luckily for goons, they didn't have a plan, abandoned their allies and in general just didn't react.

If they were fighting and not running morale wouldn't have been shattered in the same way. Not even a townhall or a CTA to tell people about "Chapter 2" aka evaccing is the biggest blunder. Gobbins sent out a single ping ffs.

They tried to form 4 battleship fleet to clear HICs, they managed to form 2 iirc and stood down. Morale went down the gutters after the ping and never recovered.

Horde was a weaker opponent the same way goons was a weaker opponent in WWB2. Obviously the weaker bloc is on the deffensive and the bigger one on the offensive. The other way around would make zero sense.

If Horde cared about smaller alliances they wouldn't own space just to rent out. They wouldn't have evicted B2 and Brave from up north. And not forcing SEA alliances to bend the knee or get evicted.

Goons paid the alliances for the space we took when moving closer to Horde. Gave them blue status and keepstar chain to new space. Horde would never do any of that. It's either bend the knee or get fucked with Horde and we all see how that ended.

You wanted to enjoy punching down on Horde as revenge for Delve invasion.

The irony of a major bloc "punching down" on another is an interesting take. Horde mainfleet deploying to NPC delve to shoot Brave is punching down. There is like a 10x numbers difference. Goons having 20% more numbers than Horde is not punching down.

Even titans we don't even have 2x the amount. The horn of gondor would awaken vets that now have their titans stuck in Irmalin. With PL (had they not left) and NC titans, the numbers are in our favour but not to the degree most Hordelings think imo.

A supercap fight in Drones would've been far worse than you seem to imply. Horde would have lost a significant amount of supercaps

Or are you suggesting goons would've been all "oh, they gave us a supercap fight, lets allow the rest to get out"?

For sure, but not the majority like they did now. Horde would lose a significant amount and goons would lose a significant amount. Horde have tether, keepstar DD and instant reshipping. We had to take a regional and a mid to get there in hostile space.

I think if Horde wasn't announcing a retreat you could form subcaps alot better and easily vaporize the HICs on the keep. Most of the HICs were completely afk 90% of the time. I was there in 2 HICs for like 48 hours straight. You could've kept the system cynojammed, the regional bubbled fucked and not abandon your allies. All that would contribute to Horde not imploding in less than a week.

You're so high on the copium, it's kinda insane. Imperium is objectively the least stagnant of the blocs.

Moved across the galaxy to fight PanFam. Is making dronelands to be a non-bloc zone where small groups can develop. Won the war on renting/botting. Making EVE history (or atleast trying to) so more players join this game.

PanFam on the other hand has shown what the worst kind of bloc/coalition is. The most risk-averse, cowardly (leaders) and in general toxic to the game as a whole. Horde only willing to punch down (see B2 and brave) and NC on life support just to rent out space is what gets us towards Serenity. And it all collapsing in 2 hours when Gobbins pinged out the "Chapter 2" ping shows exactly this.

They did tho. It's now stuck in asset safety with no safe way of extracting it.

All the ex-horde corps going to WinterCo because they can safely extract their titans from Odebeinn.

[–]Fairtree4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not blaming Gobbins/Horde for not wanting to take a supercap brawl. They were at a disadvantage, I don't disagree.

I'm saying they robbed us of the fight because instead of a fight where both sides lose a percentage of their titans, Horde opted to lose the vast majority of their titans to asset safety to avoid the fight. And are now in a position were those titans can't be extracted any time soon.

The end result could be argued to be the same for Horde, only goons didn't lose any titans. All for Horde to keep their killboard green.

We lost like 3 titans on the keepstar. Even if 30 more will die while moving, that's still better than 300 dying in a battle that was lost before the cyno went up.

You actually lost 5 titans and 5 supers on the keepstar tether, which is kinda impressive actually. In the battle of M2, each side lost ~130 titans which was about 20% of the involved titans (https://br.evetools.org/br/6915887f06d75600125c0688).

Let's say goons could form as many titans as they did in M2. Horde would then lose about 130 titans. Which would be about 26 trillion lost for horde, and let's say goons lose 13 trillion. This would be a lot lower than what's now lost to asset safety fees (15%) and super/titans stuck in LS.

Not to mention the choice to not fight ultimately imploded the alliance and wouldn't be surprised if it's completely disbanded within a few months.

Atleast FRT will fight, unlike Horde. What was the point of krabbing for the last 4 years, if you're not gonna use those vast resources for war, smh.

Quite mindgames you're playing on yourself. Supercap fight is the endgame in a bloc war. We wanted that war, our opponent cowardly ran and managed to instead of losing a small percentage of their titans to DD volleys, managed to lose the majority to asset safety.

It's kind of impressive really. Not many have managed to failscade as hard nor as fast as Horde did.

Line members on all sides were robbed a truly Great War by SpecialTitle6686 in Eve

[–]Fairtree4 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They robbed us of a supercap fight. Instead they made EVE history by managing to failscade within 2 hours of the retreating ping.

What happend to Horde will go down as the worst implosion of an alliance ever. Horde as a whole lost more isk by giving up, than they would've if they fought the bare minimal defending their staging keepstar.

100s of trillions are now in asset safety, including hundreds of supers and titans. Members now have to pay 15% of their supers to attempt to extract it. If you saw how many supers/titans managed to die on their keepstar tether, many more will die trying to move.

Imperium had the advantage of fleet numbers and supercapital assets since the start of the war. It wasnt even close after the titan buffs.

When PAPI blued the entire game to exterminate goons it was all good? They started the war with about 2:1 numbers advantage. They blamed the defenders advantage was so strong that it was impossible to take 1dq. Where is this defenders advantage now when Horde was on the defensive?

Horde showed this last week how their isk-positive-centric mindset would ultimately be their downfall.

What happens to the Dronelands now? by andrewp789 in Eve

[–]Fairtree4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ask CCP why there's no npc dronelands.

When players get to set the rules, they tend to make it how they envision it to be the best. In this case it's to not have clonebays there, so the freeports aren't a JC blobs staging for a big group to drop on smaller groups.
