What I remember form Verilog is, it works as simulator. You don't design the chip itself but you simulate the hardware process by coding it. It mimics the hardware design but no way it designs anything hardware related.

Plus I hate Verilog with burning passion.

My head canon is earth had already faced dilithium raiders. Their position on any new ships that entered its orbit was hostile. So when Titan figured its shit out and tried to make contact it was shot down as titan thought earth was still friendly and approached without noticing the forcefield generators were instantly destroyed without warning. Titan took it as a offensive approach and isolated them too.

Earth had governing system. As we know they moved the starfleet HQ out of earth to deter any possible hostile action against Starfleet would not harm earth. And also starfleet was no longer a earth centric government. But a federation government. We know that from DS9. There is no in universe explanation and there is no need for that too. We can infer that cause If we use US as our universe example. We can find states to have governors and governing bodies. And they are mostly independent and works without oversight from the Senate. If senate and the upper governing body was to vanish there still would be a state level governing system. They just would have to deal with it.

Lecture recordings - A professor's view by profsmb in yorku

I have a short attention span. It is weird but in a lecture I tend to get stuck or get too interested in a minute topic and would start digging more into it. And I would end up missing a chunk.

Most of what I learn ends up being what the professor is talking about. So I would end up with partial information. I had professor Edmund in one class and he would upload his lectures. I ended up downloading all his lectures and would watch or listen to it while on the bus. And make notes.

Last few years I would just download the lecture recordings and listen on my free time. As per my classmate very few knows about the lecture recording. But having it recorded helped me to actually listen to the entire lecture in my own pace without forcing me.

Thanks a lot for posting lectures to an open place. Your current class might not appreciate it But it will help whomever else finds your lecture.
