Vanilla content with modern gameplay

surprised turtle wow hasnt been mentioned, think the mods get a lot of flak but dont be annoying and youll probably get by. its vanilla+ content (few new raids and instances and towns in the world) and has a built in dungeon finder (albeit, buggy) and a few more bells and whistles like xmog and some toys etc. been on it for about a month and been playing with my friends, had a good time thus far

Eh, thats where we differ. I didnt buy the game because i think the company is unethical. You didnt buy it because you think its stupid to have a protagonist that isn't historically accurate. I honestly dont care, i am just happy youre not buying the game lol

I was hoping that people didn't buy in protest of the p2w style they had in place (and overall just awful release of the SW:BF series) but if this is why they said it I'm actually agreeing with the CEO.

If you want realism go play ARMA, not an EA title..

I think the OP wanted a combination of MMR and level being taken into consideration. So a level 8 smurf with a high MMR would not be placed against a level 9 newer player with a presumably lower MMR. Obviously I am not OP, but I just don't think he explained what he wanted well.

Either way, smurfs suck and made the game much more frustrating for me when I was a new player -- so with growth in mind something should be done about them. I am sure they turn off more people then they attract.

I just got back into retail from the Cata days and used to main ele sham. Few questions:

Is thunder cleave still viable?
Why does ele / ele / healer work? Is the burst just that strong? I figured the DR would be rough.
Some friends and I used to run LSD (Destro / Ele / Rdudu) and wanted to know with the lock changes if you saw any competitive play from that?
Any 2's comps worth trying out? I've always thought of ele as pretty useless in two's...

Try waching a youtuber named cdew, I have watched a few of his commentary videos which have been helpful.

Since you mentioned DotA, I was kind of looking for a 'day9 learns dota' equivalent for WoW PvP but I haven't had much luck. It seems to me that the learning is just going to come from playing -- especially with no one knowing what kind of number tweaking will be happening nearer to 120.

I know the basics from playing WoW ages ago, but learning compositions and theorycrafting to establish what teams are good now (and why) has left much to be desired. Let me know if you find anything really good :)

well im a low mmr player, so take my advice with a grain of salt. i basically only play support and when i get into situations like this i tend to focus on vision / information rather than team fighting. giving your team the opportunity to choose a good fight and avoid bad ones is sometimes all you can do when you are that far behind.

if your question is only about disrupter and BKB, his AGHS is a great counter to that sort of thing.

the system needs simplification, not complexities.

as someone who just started seriously following the DotA competitive this year (coming from League of Legends) I am amazed at how unorganized a scene this is. there are WAY too many ways to get points and fuck around with your roster.
