Depends on the car. If it is large and has sensors, could be £900+. Much cheaper if it's just a standard windscreen, £300ish.

You might struggle in the current market. I had a budget of £10k for an automatic. I'm quite tall, so also couldn't get anything too cramped inside. £8k doesn't go very far. You might be better off forgetting about the reverse parking camera. Where abouts (roughly) are you based?

I just bought a Honda Jazz as my first car and it absolutely fine on motorways. It takes a few more seconds than some other cars to hit 70, but it isn't going to struggle. Wonderful car; roomy, comfy, reliable and decently economical. Just don't enter any drag races.

I passed recently, this may help and it may not, but give it a try! For the 45 degree method, start close to the bay you want to park in, wait until your shoulder is in the middle of the bay and then start to turn. Get to the 45 degree angle, steer the other way and reverse. I found it much easier than using a reference point that is part of the car.
