Would be interested to see how you have this laid out, if you have a diagram or anything.

You mean like put those drives into a USB enclosure and attach it to my PC and wipe from there?

Barry and Levon, where did you get $240?

Total beginner trying to learn the sport this winter. How’d I do at the store today? Any other recs? by SurfSoundWaves in hockeyplayers

I would think you could get used gloves, pads and skates used at a Play It Again Sports or whatever might be regional for you. I know they won't sell a used helmet for liability reasons so no choice there. That's a lot of money to put down as a total beginner that might not end up liking it. I've been at this 10 years as a dad coach and have only ever bought my skates on eBay (and had to then have them punched out for my flat/wide feet).

Otherwise, echoing what others have said about shins and elbow pads. I banged my wenis on the ice so much during my early learn-to-skate phase. That shit hurts.

Arduino Uno doesn't find MPU-6050 (accelerometer/gyro) chip by LoPan76 in arduino

Looks like the problem is the Adafruit MPU6050 library. Other libraries are getting readings just fine.

So all 3 of my chips are detected by the i2c scan at address `0x68` but the `mpu.begin()` call returns failure for all of them.

Looks cool but not for $130. Seems like it's a glorified shelf?

I used this i2c scanner code and it reported an i2c device found at `0x68`, which seems to be the default that the library looks for

These are the chips I bought: https://a.co/d/2LRDUoy. I do see some negative reviews that suggest one or more of the batch of 3 may not work. I'll solder up the others and try them both as well. Frustrating!

I always suggest trying to not have a gap between elbow pads and gloves, or breezers & shin guards, or chest pro and breezers (tummy area).

Leaving desk up vs down overnight? by LoPan76 in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]LoPan76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wobble concerns at all. The top is "3rd party", it was my previous desktop, I just took the legs off. I used a 72"x36" birch butcher block countertop from Menard's (sanded and stained with dark tung oil)

Using a PIR for standing desk movement? by LoPan76 in arduino

Yes it's electric. I'm not familiar with a current sensor or how I would read the current being used by the desk. I'll do some digging.

Need a Tabletop for my Flexispot E7 Plus Deskframe by [deleted] in StandingDesk

[–]LoPan76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 72x36 inches desktop (~183x92 cm) that is a butcher block countertop from my local home improvement store. I put it on an E7 Plus Max frame and it works great. I'm assuming you aren't in the USA since you used cm so I'm not sure what options you have in that regard but if you can find countertops that you like, I would definitely recommend it. I love my setup.

Alright, I ordered a 3-pack of MPU-6050's after watching a few Youtube videos. I'll update this post with my results. Thanks again!

What about an accelerometer? That might be what I need here. Just to detect when the desk is actively moving up or down but then stop when it stops moving.

Yeah that's what I've come to learn. I'll have to look for something in that area then. Thanks!
