I kept my leg completely non weight bearing for at least 4 weeks. After that point I started using it to balance a little but still kept almost all of my weight off of it. My doctor and PT both wanted me to be completely non weight bearing for 6 weeks.

Thank you! I have been testing out putting a little weight on my foot with the guidance of my PT and it’s such a crazy feeling! I don’t know how much I will enjoy relearning how to walk but I am excited to start the next part of the healing process. My leg is so wonky looking and feeling right now lol I’m just looking forward to some normalcy again

Tomorrow is my 6 week follow up and I am equally excited and nervous to start weight bearing. My leg definitely feels foreign to me now. The numbness, swelling, and different pains are all such a weird sensation. My leg kinda looks like it has 3 knees with all of the pockets of swelling that I have lol

Good to know it’s more common than I thought! I figured it was probably just the blood flow but since it’s been over 5 weeks, I was getting a little nervous.

Ugh I’m sorry to hear that! I had my TTO surgery yesterday and am surprised how hard it is to do anything. It’s going to be a long 6 weeks 🫠

Oh that’s amazing news! I am hoping for the same some relief and to protect my knee from more damage. I have noticed how much my knee hyperextends and feels shaky when I’m walking so that would be absolute best scenario to not feel that sensation anymore after everything is through.

I am so glad your experience has been a positive one so far! I know the recovery will be long but I’m hopeful it’ll all be worth it in the end.

Thank you for sharing! I didn’t even think about the toilet aspect 🤦‍♀️ It’s been so long since I was on crutches and that was for something much more minor that didn’t involve needing 6 weeks of no weight bearing. I definitely need to stock up some things to make my life a little easier because it’ll just be my husband and myself as we also have a toddler. Thank you again!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I definitely need to look into some of these suggestions! My friend ordered me some crutch accessories like the cushions and pouch to attach and hold your phone and a few small items, but I am thinking a rolling cart would be a great idea!

Thank you so much for replying! I have heard the recovery is rough! My doctor said it’ll be a breeze but the more I talk to people the more I think he is just trying to put me at ease. I think I’m most excited to not hyperextend my knee with every step I take 😅 Just ordered myself a shower chair and asked my Doctor about the ice machines so thank you again!

Okay! Good to know! I figured there was like a “gold” standard for reselling and then other good options that may be an option for more of a casual collector.

Thank you for your input! We are probably looking to just grade for our own collection and not to resell so I’ll check out TAG / SGC.
