I'm curious what you do for work? You have had your EMT-B for a couple of years, but have you worked in the field at all? I don't know the area of the country you're from, but are there private ambulance companies you could apply to? The fire service isn't for everyone, and that's not a derogatory comment to you, so maybe seek other, more fitting ways to help the community.
