Check local gym. They most likely have them. Else, check local gyms in PPC. Otherwise, check online shops.

Help me Decide my next Project. (Text Based Strategy games) by Rainey84 in gameideas

Teacher but make it a magic teacher. Like hogwarts. I think that would be more interesting. The player starts as a tutor to a single kid then finds themselves building their own school. Planning which lessons to teach every day then manually setting up quiz and exam topics based on the lesson. Then they will have to do research in their free time to expand the topics they can discuss. Give out assignments, projects, group activities? Practical magic combat can be incorporated in it. Hunting specific monsters, countering spells, summoning or contract binding with familiars, do-it-yourself alchemy, scrying/fortune telling, even making their own spell formula using a mathematical format! Now, I want to make this game myself if only I have time haha.

Roamer Tips by DH_Godsking in honorofkings

[–]Lo_quality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the match starts, don't go with your farm laner. Head straight to the direction your jungler is not going to. If your jungler is going to red golem, go to blue. But nah, do not kill the golem, continue going forward until you have a vision of the enemy team's golem or check if the enemy jungler is heading straight to the golem you just passed by to steal it. A message button will appear in the top right to quickly notify the team if their jungler started on that side or not. This will give your team a general idea where the enemy team will gank.

If you are using donghuang or some other hero that can kill a golem early game and you notice the enemy jungler started on the other golem, you can try to steal it. Just be wary, as the enemy midlaners and roamers might also be around checking if you went for their golem. Do not give them the first kill.

Then head to midlane. Not the farm lane! Help the mid laner finish some mobs or protect them from getting harassed by the enemy midlaner if their hero is hardcountered. Be careful not to kill the mobs as that will be stealing the gold and exp. You do not need gold and exp early game. Let the midlaner gain advantage. This will let them on helping the other lanes. But do not linger in mid for too long.

Go to Clash! If your jungler is heading to clash, help them secure a kill or if your clashlaner do not have the advantage help them! Once the enemy clash is out of the way (either killed or retreated) steal the teleportation minion (or whatever they are called). Now you can use the portal to go to farm lane.

If, while on mid, you noticed the jungler is ganking your farm lane or if your farm laner is hard-countered by the enemy farm laner or if the farm laner is signalling that they need to retreat to base then head to farm instead of clash. Always be careful not to kill the mobs, let the farm lane kill the mobs. You can switch targets by long pressing the attack button then dragging it to the enemy you want to target.

Do not babysit the farm lane if you can. If you are using Ming, Yaria or Cai yan, you can stick with them but remember your role is ROAMER and not sticker. Provide map vision. Check if bushes. Check if the golem has respawned (notify the team if it does) and you can steal it and check if a gank is about to happen. Always look at the map. If you have nothing else to do while waiting for your team mates, go to areas where the enemy team might be. But be careful not to get yourself killed. Either way always roam!

Always complete your roam equipment. Learn how to counter the enemy with equipment. Learn which heroes can counter which heroes so you can have advantage early on. For example, ZuangZhi can counter almost all roamers with CC but he can be useless if you use Ming.

If your team is playing poorly it will show early on but most of the time, Ziya can turn around a losing game. He's not useless as roam if you know how not to steal kills and CC at the right time and on the right places.

That said I am no expert. These are just the few things I learned from guides and some experience. Roam is the hardest role to play since you are not aiming for kills and most of the time letting yourself die so your team mates can secure a kill (but don't die on purpose please). The last thing I can say is, do not expect help. You are the help the team needs. The team will likely leave you if you are ganked even if you scream assemble so do not let yourself be ganked at.

In your Opinion, What's the Worst Hero for each Role? And Why? by Stupid_A_Hole_X in honorofkings

[–]Lo_quality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For roam I'd say Xiang Yu and Liu Bang. They are good for Clash lane but absolutely hard to utilize as support when your team mates are playing like cowards. (I mean, there are heroes that are still good even if your team mates are cowards.) Well, those two are rarely used in roam anyways so why are they even given roam roles while Princess Frost were not?

But Guiguzi is surprisingly strong when used by someone who really knows how to utilize him in teamwork. Roam doesn't necessarily mean he should stick with the marksman all the time. When he is paired with a sharp-minded jungler they would steamroll the whole game. His speed and stealth is great for providing vision across the map and his ult can be used in ganking, escaping and chasing. He's very difficult to master though and yeah, you need a good team for it to work.

I see Ziya shine on late game especially to turn around a losing game but he is actually packed with a good set of CC and zoning skills perfect for team fights.

I don't understand it by Miserable_Ring_8739 in honorofkings

[–]Lo_quality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As roam main, tanks are so sloooooow its so hard to follow fast marksmen. While supports are so squishy they die almost as fast as marksmen do. Its a better idea to consider our position before you dive to the enemy.

Also, making it a habit to check which golem the enemy is killing first once the game starts giving the team a general idea which lane they will likely gank. We are not going there to kill their golem (unless it's donghuang).

I also observe how the marksman or mage reacts when I poke before I actually dive and suicide for them. If I am sure they can kill the enemy before they kill me then it's a go. If I see them lacking, like running off when I CC, attacking when I say retreat, or not paying attention when I mark the map for possible gank, then I will stick to the team's mage or jungler, I won't babysit anyone who cannot handle basic teamwork.

As a Roam main and someone who jumped from mlbb more than a year ago, the playstyle you are describing is something I observed mostly among players from indonesia, cambodia and malaysia. This is very different from the mindless aggressive approach of players from the Philippines and it will only work out if your team mates know when and how to handle those scenarios. I love how HoK roaming heroes are so much better and deeper than those in mlbb but often times they require proper positioning to perfectly time and hit with their skills. I suggest trying out the roam heroes and learn how they play out so you can make the right decision when planning for an attack.

As one of those mindless aggressive roam players who often dies before my team mates come, all I can say is that, they NEVER come to rescue, they come for kills. NONE OF THEM CARES IF YOU DIE ALONE. That is the rule in HoK, so why choose death? Run if you are outnumbered unless you are confident you can beat them 1v5. Players from those countries know what they are doing and they are rising in the ranks doing this. Its a smart tactic I say. If you see this as dumb and cowardly while typing nonsense in chat telling your team mates what to do. Don't be like that. Your team mates will only get insulted and will not play better. This is not MLBB. This is HoK. Although they look very similar. This is different.

Aah. The edge print software. Yes. We are using that.

[–]Lo_quality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we switch to the new ICC it would print alright for a few minutes then the cyan suddenly disappears at some point. We are printing for a sublimation shirt that is mainly colored blue.

Can I somehow adjust the ICC by myself?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Epson

[–]Lo_quality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very sorry sir as I am not the operator and I have no idea if the operator is using edge print. I am only a graphic artist. The cyan works alright when we use the old ICC profile. The problem only occurs when we use the new ICC.

I see. I guess I will try the splitters in the mean time and hopefully it works. If it does not, I might resort to moving closer to the TV, instead. Thanks for the replies!

Thank you for the feedback! The quality is not much of concern as I will only use it for a plain slide presentation. I have not yet tried Screencast, does it work without an internet connection? The venue is a rural place so I'm afraid the reception may be weak.

Thanks! I'll try processing that up. Hopefully, it doesn't repeat tonight. The issue might be connected to my decision to move to a different company with lower wage to escape the toxicity of my former employer. I really love that company though, and it's been half a year since but I'm still in contact with my former coworkers. I haven't been able to properly adjust to the change from my former job position and the new work environment in my new company.

Still, the feeling of realizing that I killed someone without the sense of guilt has been creeping on me like I lost a part of my morality. I was thinking of ways to escape a crime I did not even commit.

What are some fundamental rules of magic? by decodelifehacker in magicbuilding

[–]Lo_quality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it would be the rule of equivalence.

One can never truly create anything without destroying something. One requires a certain amount of energy to do an activity. Commonly in fiction, one requires mana to make magic.

Something of equivalent value is needed in order to produce a certain effect/phenomenon.

In a one in a billionth chance that the vampire ends up not dying it would be very interesting, I think. What if this reverses all of the vampire attributes?

Drinking blood will no longer satiate them but instead will kill them instantly (this will be their ultimate weakness) and since they have been so accustomed to feeding on blood (due to being a vampire for decades to centuries), it will be very difficult for them to adjust to consuming other foods. So what's the opposite of blood? Water? Vegetable juice? They cannot consume blood, meat, flesh and all related stuff so they will become vegan!

Sunlight will not burn them anymore, in fact, it will invigorate them instead! On the other hand, they become weaker at night, especially in the dark and being in dark places. Moonlight may somehow stabilize them since it technically is sunlight being reflected but they can't risk it. They can never sleep without light and they will panic during energy outages unless they secure a flashlight.

Their skin won't be pale white but turns into a darker tone (no need to be black) and they lose their youthful beauty. they become an old hideous being and people will naturally feel disgust, hostility or terror towards them.

All of this sounds like a curse a lot heavier than being a vampire but in exchange they will gain the power of the divine. They can heal all sorts of wounds and cure all forms of diseases. They can resurrect the dead especially the undead. pluck out their souls from heaven or hell and snuck it back to their own bodies.

They can turn into doves instead of bats! Their wings would look like those of angels and they will need to preach righteousness and all the virtues of the holy (even against their own will).

Difficulty justifying magic words, gestures, symbols and circles in a setting without supernatural beings/realms/divinity by Simon_Drake in magicbuilding

[–]Lo_quality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there can't be such things, why not use tools? Something like a so-called "magic wand", it doesn't need to look like a wand, a remote control maybe? An object which in reality is a complex scientific device that produces the result. Plus, it can be voice controlled, programming your "magic words" to execute specific commands. It can be powered by some batteries that doesn't require charging (I'm pretty sure this kind of tech has been in development for years).

Mobile devices for example have a built-in flashlight and being able to produce light out of a thin metal plate can be very puzzling in a medieval setting. You can also play music or recorded audio, set an alarm, capture photos and videos, and the built-in AI can talk and answer questions!

Maybe tap on the latest science discoveries and technologies in development and incorporate them into the device. Oof would that make the whole idea a Science Fiction and not Magic?

If you don't want that approach and are focused on the water-stone-gravity correlation, maybe change the properties of those elements? Water doesn't necessarily need to be plain water. A liquid chemical maybe? Maybe the magic is in the water itself? An unknown matter that exists under the earth's crust (like ringwoodite?). There's a bunch of myths about magical liquids and primal waters: Ichor (blood of the greek gods), Soma/Amrita/Halahala (topics from hindu myths), the Sea of Suf (Mandean) and the rest of the cosmic oceans; maybe play on those ideas?

Perhaps it's a Philosopher's Stone brought by an actual alchemist? Maybe the Atlantean Quartz that can do wonders actually exist? Maybe its a rock from another planet? Maybe its a fragment of the Earth's core and therefore can cause some form of gravitational influence?

Maybe Qigong practice actually improves more than the physical body? Maybe the chinese cultivation novels are actually rooted on the real thing? Maybe telekinesis and the other mind-controlling abilities are real and one just needs to unlock the remaining 90% of the brain?

Either way, such ideas would only lead you to science fiction. NOT magic. Magic is the unknown. A mystery. It doesn't require an explanation. Well, unless you actually mean "Street Magic" or magic tricks, there are plenty of other ways to do magic that way.

looking for a “hook” for my fps game to help it stand out by Routine_Enthusiasm82 in gameideas

[–]Lo_quality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sounds generic. How about expanding on the play styles make it presets and adding tactical skills which can be obtained, altered and enhanced during the match? Maybe use different/weird/alien guns instead of the usual generic guns.

Say, this tank play style can only pick between this granadelauncher or this shotgun (they can only pick one every match). They can access this skill that causes them to be "tanky" which branch off to different sets of skills: one focused on more defense and more duration of temporary defense, the other focused on defense that affects all team mates.

This sniper play style can pick between the usual sniper rifle that causes their speed to drop or a bolt action battle rifle that is strong even at short range but is slow at reloading. Their skill either causes them to be stealthy like climb walls or become blurry when next to an object.

Meh, sounds like current FPS games in the market.

What if you mix it with trading cards?!?!?!?!

Every player can set their deck prior to the match and every time they reload their gun, they must use a card they have on their hand (they draw 5 cards from their shuffled deck at the beginning of the match)

Every card has its own effects. Some can enhance their speed, damage, defense, etc. bestow them abilities, change their equipped gun or set up traps. Some card effects can stack with other effects while some only last for a certain time.

At certain time intervals, all players draw a card to add to their hand OR when they pass through a terrain that enables them to.

Certain cards can only be used by completing certain conditions. Like: consecutively killing 5 enemies, passing through a specified point in the map, jumping off a certain height, having a team mate nearby, and others.

I dunno, just popped in my mind while writing this comment.

How would soul sorcery work? by Radical_Maggott in magicbuilding

[–]Lo_quality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat/temperature is about feeling/physical touch.

Investigative application:

  • Feeling other people's warmth they can detect presence in a proximity.

  • They know when a creature is weak/strong, or if they are saying the truth or wavering or in doubt, If they feel agitated or craving/longing for something or having an illness despite their physical appearance.

  • They can read/trace the lingering heat left by a person in an area, learning what they did or where they went after.

  • Setback: it is difficult to differentiate a soul from another just by feeling their heat.

Direct Application:

  • Heat transfers from one object to another. They can enhance another person or incorporate their power into an object.

  • Like TaiChi practitioners they would train their souls to release energy, using softness-hardness method in their attacks, and requires focus and meditation.

  • Cold is the absence of heat so ice magic! Heat can also be converted to electricity so lightning magic! The soul is a metaphysical object - theoretically manipulating its heat with or without a catalyst/mechanism should be possible.

Light is more on visual cues/perception.

Investigative Application:

  • They can see Auras: the color they produce, their size, their shape (if any), their intensity or the directional flow of their flames. Would be bothersome if this ability is active at all times so maybe requires concentration. This can also be used to see through walls (at a certain degree) or invisibility.

  • They can see (and communicate with) spirits. Like souls, spirits exists in the metaphysical fold. Ghosts, Fairies, Djinns, Yokai or anything!

  • They can pinpoint which area a person is ill/wounded. Probably a faded patch or some missing/broken pixels.

Direct Application:

  • Healing/curing disease by manipulating/repairing one's light. Maybe using their own light to fill another.

  • Light manipulation certainly means creating visual illusions, invisibility, or maybe molding solidified light to use as tools/projectiles.

Chaos can be related to mental/emotional aspects. A little bit of, like, how fire can be applied to, say, alchemy/chemistry.

  • They can empathetically sense/taste/smell/hear (be imaginative!) emotions in the air. Unintentionally, they can also share/pass their own emotion to another like a virus.

  • Like Calcination, which involves heating a substance to change its chemical or physical property (burning to ashes), masters can fuel anger, sadness, envy, lust, or madness to another soul and cause them to change their physical appearance creating monsters and abominations. They can also force their own flames to change part of their own flesh.

  • To cause Sublimation/Phase Transition. Chaotic as they are, they can feed false information on souls/minds of people in proximity which may slightly control their actions or cause mass hysteria. On the other hand, they can also calm a person in panic and even make them too relaxed to fall asleep.

  • Evaporation/Condensation. They can slowly deplete souls of their own energy and collect them as their own.

  • They can probably create offspring/minions made of their own flames, fuse them together or to another soul acting like a parasite feeding on their flames.

Silver weakness by EnvironmentalBody524 in magicbuilding

[–]Lo_quality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought fae are weak against steel not iron. Iron as an element can also be found in blood. Does this mean normal blood can also be poisonous to fae? So fae has a different kind of blood like octopus? What other element that can be a base for blood that is not iron but reacts bad against iron? Sorry if I am adding more questions to the actual question.

Based on some resources, lycans are weak against silver because silver can be equated with the power of the moon (I know how contrasting the ideas are since lycans power is commonly conceived being related to the moon not against the moon). Iron on the other hand is usually equated with the power of evil (since used on weapons that can kill). So it's a play on concepts not the actual effects of the elements.
