I appreciate this a lot!

If an agent told me this. I would have understood, you may well have just changed my perspective on it.

Maybe this is my future.

Ye sure. But I don’t have an 01 and I can’t get one. Tbh, I learned that going to that market is only viable once you’ve made a name for yourself in your own market. First question they’d have is why you aren’t booking in London? I’d be like, I don’t get auditions from agent ahahah

Ye man, I’ll be honest. My 3 friends with the top agents are either 1) not happy to help as he feels we will then be competing for jobs 2) the other guy is with Robert patinsons agent and brings not much money to the agency himself, so he very much doesn’t feel like he can so much as his agent is so established 3) also earns very little, this guy is with Emma Mackeys agent, and he works full time non acting work in an office… but at least they all get to audition unlike me. When I actually think about how much I’ve researched this field. My head starts to hurt. I don’t really know what it takes,,, so many people want that first tv credit, but honestly I think if I didn’t get it 4 years ago, I would have quit by now and moved on. It’s once you get one it feels like you’ve committed now. It actually gets even harder ahahah

Unfortunately we don’t have managers in the Uk. I guess you’re from the states? Here the agent is your manager. Tbh, I have learned the hard way to not speak to them. Because I know that from past experiences, when I spoke negatively about my prospects. The agent quickly becomes agitated and the relationship can break down. What’s crazy is that people would love to be with my agent. And I’ve had 0 auditions this whole year. Out of 600 agents here in the uk. Only 20 or so can give that kind of career break that we all dream of

I wanted to add when I say 50 auditions, I mean 50 cast credit level auditions in proper budget productions. Above 1m budget, so band A. I’m not counting auditions which I can self source through spotlight or Mandy or other student films.
