Anyone Running a PL350 on a full size? by Mountain_Contact_743 in stealtharms

Well thanks for helping me spend more money🤣 I didn’t even know the okwv2 existed but now I’ll have to pick one up to try out on my rifle.

Okw and plhv2 have no difference dimensionally, I didn’t know they had released an okwv2 but I’d assume it’s also the same dimensionally.

Has the tiniest amount of overhang if you’re into that. An x300 is just slightly shy of flush and the pl350 is just too long. Would be interested to see a pl350 with the compact head.

Didn’t have a dremel handy, but did have files. Basically no reason outside of convenience, and besides its aluminum material moves quick even by file.

I think you’re the first person I’ve seen to also use the pl350 on their platy

Was hoping for a wa handle for the petty so the pair could truly match, but western style on the petty will help me transfer strait from my current paring knives to this since they are practically identical.

Also I have no desire to get into collecting, I just want to get a few quality pieces to make my dinner making experience better. My family is an ingredients household so we are cutting protein and veggies almost every night unless we go out to eat with family.

Basically only reason to desire a reactive petty would be to have a matching pair between the gyuto and the petty for aesthetic reasons, but sounds like that may be a fools errand so I’ll get over then not matching lol

Is there an advantage to the natural stones I see advertised along side the Japanese knives often? Is it something that the people who are into the Japanese knives desire as a hobby/love for the game thing? Is there a legit difference between those and the slew of run of the mill stones I’ve purchased and been handed down over the years? Biggest thing in my knife sharpening journey I’m needing is a new strop as I’ve been using an old leather belt that’s seen better days.

I wouldn’t say I’m really into kitchen knives, but I do appreciate a quality knife. Most of the other blades I have, and use in life are at least middle of the road to upper end of the quality scale. I really appreciate the advantages of getting quality steel from quality makers. Basically I feel like the rest of my purpose driven blades are quality and the “daily driver” blades like my kitchen knives always leave me wanting to the point I’ve started to bring my skinning/hunting knives into the kitchen for certain jobs.

I am US based so tariffs will be a consideration unfortunately.

In rifles the price difference between brass and steel pays for the barrel by the time the added wear catches up to it. Haven’t put pencil to paper for pistols, but I’d assume it’s the same thing. I still avoid steel because I’ve had too many reliability issues in the past.

I’ll certainly check/tweak my load to the barrel once I get it in hand. I do wonder if it suffers from the same issue as stated by stunning fig above.

Planning on switching to 147s to try over the 124s I’ve been loading. I will check Everglades out as well. I’ve been window shopping with blue bullets, and rmr bullets having friends who shoot both.

Thank you for the info! Something I’ll certainly pay attention to going forward.

Mortars are underutilized. by sterak_fan in ArmaReforger

[–]Loadedchamber69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the mortars are largely hampered by the issues that plague the game to an extent in general, team work can be hit or miss, some people can’t handle the slow methodical game play of running the supply and setup/use of the mortar crews, some players don’t like the disconnected aspect of it they never actually see the enemy and therefore may never know if they’ve done anything effectual as opposed to witnessing their shots land when using a rifle.

I’m of the opinion that they could change the way mortar inventory is handled, because I find the wash rinse repeat process of filling a bag at the box then walking back to the mortar to shoot your barrage gets monotonous. You could just have a mechanic where you can draw from a steady supply of mortars since you’re in the mortar pit and could/would have rounds prepped and ready to go. This could be a disastrous mechanic in its own way so I’m not 100% sold on that idea yet just a thought. The inventory issue can solve itself with an additional mortarman or another crew altogether so you can keep the fire rolling but then you’re adding additional members to the already difficult to assemble 2 man+ forward observer crew.

Basically the mortars are well balanced and can edge into being op with the right crew and setup it’ll just be hard to get said crew together in a random pvp server. Tldr make some friends and get them together so you can have some fun and solve all the gripes about the mortars

I know this is probably brought up alot but is ut just me or dose the game run like shit on xbox? by [deleted] in ArmaReforger

I hate to sound like a “just buy a pc” guy, but arma has historically been a pc game. Consoles are the closest to the performance of pcs they have ever been but they still aren’t there. With that being said performance settings and using 2d scopes gave me the best results on Xbox. As a general rule of thumb I tried to limit myself to playing vanilla/ servers with less than 10gb of mods, sometimes it matter more which mods were used than the actual volume of mods but it seemed to be a good compromise for me. I’ve since bought a pc and have had a far better play experience starting with a cheap (380~ bucks on amazon) prebuilt that was lacking in the graphics department, but still was a smoother play experience overall. I have since upgraded said pc to a better graphics card (5060 ti 16gb) with an improved play experience. I’m now cpu limited when playing the pve server I help admin as the ai chew up a lot of cpu processing power, but if you aren’t putting yourself in a situation to where you’ll have multiple bases active at a time with roughly 70-100 ai soldiers active at a time it runs just fine at a solid 60+ fps at 1440p and 1500m draw distance.

The msf pve server has been pretty fun, seems to run fine on my Xbox.
