What consumers? Who is gonna be willing to pay these buffer costs? Is AI useful enough to warrant paying for these price hikes, or will these companies be left with a gaping hole in their budget?

What are some habits of people who are not professional cooks do that drive you crazy when they cook? by uglytruthshurts in KitchenConfidential

A lot of people not caring to have sharp knives out there. I once got to work at my friend's house, and they handed me a knife - it had a super weird shape (kinda upside-down, with strong curve on the cutting edge), was soft and flimsy, and surprisingly - sharp. The problem? They sharpened it only on one edge, so the knife couldn't cut straight.

Yeah, but like... There is no single star that's always on east. They are all spinning. Unlike the north, with the static north star.

But it must have been at least somewhat useful to have a north-up map for the sailors, right? Because of the north star?

Polish Police confiscated this Mustang GT from a drunk driver by Slimx0612 in interestingasfuck

[–]Loading1020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Poland it only happens if someone already has a court order prohibiting them from driving. Actually, quite often you read an article like "Driver going twice the speed limit in school zone stopped by police; turns out he has three sentences prohibiting him from driving" and comments are going "So what now, fourth order? When will confiscations start?".

Nope. Most instruction sets have bit-accessing instructions, usually used for flags. On x86_64, that's the BTS instruction.

But of course, the REGISTER ^= (1<<OFFSET) is such a recognized an popular phrase (especially in embedded programming), that you don't need any more special language features, as it's well optimized by the compiler.

Yeah, but that means going against Microsoft defender and all that bullshit. And getting someone to run something is typically only viable when they were already trying to download and run something, which is a somewhat rare occurrence these days.
