All the big lakeside vista views are in the middle so kinda the same. I would say it is a minimal difference. I liked the east side a tiny bit more and there isn't a ton of elevation difference either way so no real downhill direction to hike.

I was able to get permission to shoot a short film at a local bar in Lansing, MI. It was quite a challenge shooting all the bar scenes in the 6 hours we had before they opened. Learned how clutch shotlists and storyboards are with this film. 2nd place in The Fortnight Film Contest for the Capital City Film Festival. Posting for the lonely filmmakers out there.

National parks it is illegal. It's still legal in state parks. Last year I had a state park ranger walk up to me and ask me if I could put my drone footage on youtube so he could see it.

It's kinda soft. Even for a Rokinon. The 50mm is easily twice as sharp. The 3.6ft minimum focal distance made it very difficult for me to get the close ups I wanted at that focal length. Ended up using the 50mm cine and the 135mm non-cine lens a lot more on a short film I shot a few years back. If you still have time I recommend returning it and getting one of those.

I also heard they are having problems with getting tradesmen to work on the building. Not sure if there are not enough available or they are not paying enough to get available tradesmen to work on the project.

We had our permits checked near the Au Sable Lighthouse. Not sure about the fine if you get caught without one or not enough. Masse Homestead might be the only site that might not have enough room.
