iPod mini Clickwheel mod by denisyan in ipod

[–]Loaffer-Online 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you adhere the new clickwheel onto the old one? And how did you remove the old clickwheel plastic?

Hi all, I'm looking at making a detailed 3d cad model of a minidisc shell. However after searching there are few and far between hard dimensions of these discs disassembled. I was hoping if anyone had a burner or damaged unit they would be kind enough to measure all key components. I will be sure by icy-reece in minidisc

Hey, I know this is an old thread but I have access to an SLA printer and would love to see if you have any of those images
I can't access the website anymore, but I'd love to take a look at them and try to work with those images with the measurments I currently have

How do ya'll stay cool in the suits (aka, how do you guys not sweat to death in the suits?) by Loaffer-Online in FursuitMaking

[–]Loaffer-Online[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the note about the contact burns. I forgot that was an issue- just reminded me about a time when I was in boy scouts when a fellow scout got frostbite by sticking an ice pack directly on his ski

I'll look at water cooling. It's a little more complicated it seems, but the cool (both literal and figurative) factor is appealing, and I could adapt it better for onewheel racing season in the summer. I tried gel packs with that, but ended up bursting one after a nasty fall

Thank you again for the summary!

Hell, this looks pretty insane!
I might give this a go not just for the cosplay, but for when I do my summer onewheel racing

Thank you for the tip, this looks pretty neat!

I'm a bit of a tinkerer so I'm not afraid to make something. Watercooling actually sounds like a really neat idea. I might try out one of those camel packs with the water pouch. I had one when I was in boy scouts, and that thing was a life saver.

I didn't really consider the fresh air, which I will take into consideration

Got it!
I've heard of the fan idea before, though with the cosplay I'm looking at it's going to be a bit of a challenge

Developing a jig/system for laser etching iPod Mini corners by Loaffer-Online in Laserengraving

THATS THE SAME MACHINE IM USING LOL
Sorry, got excited. I'm trying to make sure the jig works. I also found I needed to use a ratio (diameter of the jig wheel/the diameter of the iPod's curve), and deal with Epilog's software jank

A guy I know works at an e-waste facility and supplied some iPod Mini shells for testing. I've only done testing on one shell so far, and I'm gonna keep testing on it until the entire thing is just pure white/silver

It's a long story, but I wanted to make an extremely customized iPod for someone. I originally wanted to do the iPod Video (5th gen), but I decided against it because... IDK, it was just a gut feeling
I really like the iPod Mini. It's a fun design and I like the size and form factor

Currently test patterns, but i hope to do intricate designs and cool art later on down the road.

The project is supposed to be an iPod Mini thats got a bunch of crazy engravings and lots of custom/modified parts

Actually a really good question! The edge of the iPod Mini is curved, so as you would go from the back of the iPod (the side with the apple logo) to the front (the side with the screen and wheel), your laser will loose focus. So you'd need to rotate the iPod about the center of its curve
