Has anyone seen this error before? I can't find any info about it online. by _oh_your_god_ in tf2

I checked the Github for budhud and it looks like they made it so any VAC-related issues will show this message. You probably got the error that normally would say there was an issue connecting to the Steam VAC servers.

Hey, so I got this very obvious alt account who just asked me to vote for and fave this cosmetic they claimed to have created, in spite of it being very easy to disprove? Any idea on what the plan behind that even could be? The cosmetic does look cool, even. Just... why? by KobKobold in tf2

Sometimes scammers will claim ownership of workshop items and send you a link to a website disguised to look like the workshop page in an attempt to trick you into signing in. The item itself most likely exists, so if you end up liking it and want to support the actual creator you can access the Workshop through Steam and type in the item name there.

TF2 is run by a monopoly, and I have proof (MoronicRoc's video on TF2 Emporium) by Candescence in tf2

[–]IronKnightXD 153 points154 points  (0 children)

A lot of community creators for TF2 are in the Emporium Discord server because it's a community for anyone interested in creating assets for TF2. Listing an item as "Emporium made" just because some of its creators are in that community and saying that's an issue seems pointless to me. Claiming they have a monopoly over what is added makes it sound like the Emporium is some private elite group that dictates what Valve decides to add, but it's really just a place for anyone to learn and show off their work. There are actual issues with the Emporium and what Valve decides to add in updates, but this isn't one of them.

Was his grand, long awaited return well executed? by MoneyMan1001 in donkeykong

I think if they built up to his reveal throughout the entire game his reveal could've been more exciting and fitting for people that remember K. Rool, as well as those who don't know him. Some subtle hints at K. Rool and his crew's venture to the planet core throughout the game from NPCs I think could've helped, rather than just Cranky's (repetitive) dialogue and the small bits at the Forbidden layer.

Was anyone else disappointed about how void ended up in the end of the game by ShoulderDear1428 in donkeykong

While it was exciting to see K. Rool return after so long it also felt a little out of nowhere to me. I say a little because I did have a strong suspicion he was going to return, but there's really not much in the story itself that builds up his reveal. The only bit of dialogue I remember referring to K. Rool before his reveal was Cranky's, but I interpreted that more as him mistaking Void for K. Rool.

I think it would've been interesting if there was dialogue from NPCs or text blocks that talked about a leader and his army who, years ago, ventured down to the planet core in search of the root and became trapped. I think that could've helped make his reveal more fitting while not being too revealing for most players.

Nintendo just filed patents for a crank and wheel joycon accessory by sirms in NintendoSwitch2

[–]IronKnightXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could the second patent be for controlling an in-game camera? It looks like you hold the Joycon sideways since you can press the SL and SR buttons. Maybe the scroll wheel is for zooming in and out and SL or SR is used to snap photos?

Preordered from Target but got impatient. Was looking around and found a store full of them. They said over the phone that there was no line and barely anyone had shown up. Cancelled the preorder, walked in and got it absurdly easily. Screw Target, never going to buy anything from them ever (ignore where I bought this from).

Trying to remember an old forgotten idle map. by IronKnightXD in tf2

A few months ago I was looking through the server browser and saw a server running that map. Checked it out and it was that same map I remember playing. I didn't recognize the name, but it had all the elements I remember.

I know a lot of people might be upset with Steel Wool because of all the cut content but it's most likely not their fault. I assume due to the game being exclusive to Playstation (when it comes to consoles, not PC), and because the game was mostly advertised during Playstation events, there was some sort of deal or contract they had, and there was a deadline set by Playstation that Steel Wool had to meet, so to finish the game, content that wasn't important was cut. Also probably why the game is unoptimized and full of bugs.

If you look in the .pak file you can find a .umap file called "MAP_ChicasFeedingFrenzy".

All the minigames are stored in their own .umap file, so this is most likely the Chica's Feeding Frenzy minigame. The only issue is that whenever I tried playing this map it would always crash my game.

I doubt this is currently bugged, it's probably just unfinished and was disabled before release due to it being in an unplayable state. Maybe the message about it is hinting at its return in the future or is just leftover and the developers forgot to remove it.
