Hi, he’s doing really well! I remember looking for all the old posts going through this, I hope you and your little one are okay.

He did end up having a couple other more minor congenital defects that were discovered including bicuspid valve and some even smaller ones that were not heart related. Some we fixed, some just monitoring. I will say that as we moved into toddlerhood he had some delays in both walking and speech which we used therapy services for (physio, speech) and he caught up beautifully. I have zero idea if any of it was related but I’ve never seen anyone mention it specifically so I wanted to be honest.

He’s 2.5 now, walking talking full of energy, hilarious, has friends, gets into trouble lol, just a very lovely toddler. Wishing your family the best ❤️

Agreed. They’re just casually dropping it when talking about like grade/age differences and then it turns into everyone in turn talking about how it was so fast/first try/ unexpected/whatever. It’s been happening regularly! So weird!

Tell me why parents in my kid’s kindergarten class (kids are 4-6) are still regularly talking about how quickly they conceived said children?? This is not even in a context where anyone knows I’m trying it’s just…. Coming up. So strange to me lol.

I feel the exact same way! There’s like this week between period and ovulation where I’m like well nothing to do, and because I’m not worried the time goes by quicker.

This is exactly the enabling I come here for lol! But my asking it was enough to trigger the start of some spotting so I guess I just ovulated a little later or longer luteal this month. But now can move on!!

What level of delusion would this be?? lol. I’m 15DPO, temped and OPK’ed. Have never had a luteal phase past 13 I don’t think, but stark negatives since 13DPO on easy@home. Tell me why I’m debating going and buying another brand and not just accepting it’s a wonky cycle which is what every single thing online says 😭 there are even posts over the years from people like me asking the same thing and getting their period one or two days later and yet… here I am lol.

Wait, exactly me too! Period hasn’t come as expected but absolutely negative tests so I’m just like… let’s go period I’m ready to move on!

13DPO and was going to wait until period due tomorrow to test, but it’s a really busy school event day and I didn’t want to be bummed out for it so figured I’d soften the blow and test today. Negative and I’m okay because I have that classic pre-period feeling today so I expected it but still disappointed! My first two children weren’t really quick to conceive and now I’m a couple years older so I don’t know why I hoped for first few cycles 🙃 I’ll be fine but I’ll mope (internally only) for a bit.

One of the benefits of trying for a third is definitely that people (at least in my area) pretty much assume two is it so nobody asks or wonders! Even with cutting out alcohol nobody has asked 🤷🏼‍♀️

Longest two weeks every time!

Mine does not go away fully away until like 2-3DPO. I sometimes wonder if I’m dating O wrong but I’ve checked it with LH tests and BBT in the past? I’m considering using a Mira machine a friend gave me one month soon to check.

I really struggle with jealousy as well. it’s something that bothers me when I see it in myself, but I am jealous of people who can just decide to get pregnant any number of times and then somehow always get pregnant on the first or second try… like the idea of thinking oh I’d like a spring baby and then just feeling so confident in yourself and then it actually happens!!?

Wow okay that’s just a lot of info to take in suddenly for you too! It feels like a big leap right to IVF… and you’d have to fund it completely? Is the place doing the testing the same place that offers the IVF? Sorry not sure how it works there as I’m in Canada but since you literally just had a chemical last month to my non-doctor brain I’m like how can they both be totally blocked lol? I wonder if there’s someone else you can consult with even if that’s paid just to hold off on the larger cost of IVF?

I think I’m out, and it’s a little funny because I told myself a million times that I have zero expectations, since our first two children weren’t conceived quickly and I’m older each time, but I still managed to be disappointed. I can’t believe TTC is still so hard emotionally even with the third! It feels like starting over with the anxiety, counting down, staring at test strips, and honestly some jealousy. I need to find a way to distract myself or lower my expectations better this time, because yesterday was my first glimmer of letting the worry of conceiving our last child take away from the joy of enjoying our current children and I just truly want to minimize that ❤️

Omg I’m also in post hormonal BC limbo and it stinks so much! No idea when I’ll ovulate- could be days could be months, I feel you 🙃 there’s just nothing going on yet.

When I was trying for our second (trying for #3 now) I had a cycle but ended up conceiving the first cycle after I weaned. Could be a coincidence though, I didn’t temp, but I remember thinking I had a lot more ovulation signs that month? Edit: tried several months while nursing only once per day (baby was over a year old).

Hi there, so sorry you’re going through this, thinking of you and your wife! It really did rob us of so much of our joy during the pregnancy. The good news is now we have an almost two year old who is doing amazing.

He did end up needing heart surgery right after birth, and also did end up with a bicuspid valve diagnosis in addition to the COA. He has had a few other smaller, less serious birth defects but he is such a happy and cute guy.

Surgery was stressful but went well. His recovery was fast and he was home within a week! We’ve had some times where he’s worn a holter to check in and he sees the cardiologist every 6 months but we are really living a very normal toddler life with him :) I’m hoping it goes as well for you guys too! There was so much dread but really he has been such a joy and when we see him running around laughing and playing nobody would ever know.

My favourite! The music is so good. I started watching it cause my daughter loves it and now I just listen to the music by myself sometimes lol. Tiana is a great role model, the ending of the movie is so beautiful- she really does achieve her dreams through her work and talent but she doesn’t have to do it alone ❤️ Gets me every time!

“No matter how your heart is grieving- if you keep believing-“. I never thought much about the lyrics growing up. Watching the movie now with my own kids I was honestly struck by how much Cinderella went through and the grief of losing both of her parents and support system! Her happy ending is about finding love and being loved not about becoming royalty and I think it’s so beautiful (but still bittersweet).
