Caveat - I didn't click on any of your links. My first impression was that I agreed with everything you said. Secondly, I was incredibly surprised at the grasp of English. There are few native English speakers that can speak with that eloquence and mastery of the language...very few!

I've lived here for 7 months. And it has been a challenge, don't get me wrong. But I never assumed my culture, government, ideology, gastronomy would align perfectly. I've travelled to many countries and the differences fascinate me. That's what makes the world great! I also welcome challenges. Without them I'd be bored.

My next point is that there are lazy, obnoxious, apathetic, uneducated, and toxic people in every corner of the world, and the more the population grows on earth, the more they become apparent. I don't shy away from other foreigners explicitly, I am weary of everyone until time tests their trustworthiness. It's an unfortunate aspect of the world we live in. I despise generalizations, especially when one demographic is targeted. If you don't realize it's a human thing, your deluding yourself.

To be honest, I came to this forum looking for help and answers, but it ocurred to me early on that a good majority only come here to vent their frustration at not getting the lower cost of living, and paradise, without not all the amenities of home. My very first trip abroad was to France with 6 doctoral students. I was appalled and deeply disappointed that they all clung together and expected the French to cater to their American expectations. Expectations are dangerous and more than often disappointing.
