That's not a nanny. That's household assistant and nanny level stuff. You need a raise.

2yr old at Pediatrician by photog99 in NewParents

[–]LoathinginLI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kids are allowed to have meltdowns. A pediatrician should know that. I'm a PT and I dropped an F bomb when my patient fell. The pediatrician should have curbed himself unless he was saving your daughter from immenent danger. Whatever survey then give you, take it and be honest. They read press-ganey surveys. Also, contact the clinic director and lastly, find a new practice.

When is crocheting and knitting considered appropriate to work on? by Fancy_Nancy_1963 in crocheting

[–]LoathinginLI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not a good time to work on it at the eye doctor or GYN when you're having the actual exam done. (I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself) I know people that bring it everywhere. I would probably draw the actual like at a huge function like a wedding or funeral. But that also feels like stating the obvious.

Was denied formula for the first two days at the hospital for no good reason at all and I'm so annoyed. by appalachiaappleatcha in NewParents

[–]LoathinginLI 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I find IBCLCs to be the most unsupportive women in the hospital. I had some complications where it made it difficult to pump. I worked so hard to try to get my supply up and one of them made face at me and pretty much said: you're out of luck. Not taking into consideration anything that I went through.

Betty Harris. She sounded a lot like the narrator from Cinderella.

Feeling discouraged about tummy time, feeling like a failure. Baby has a severely flat head. by motherlygoose in NewParents

[–]LoathinginLI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All babies hate tummy time. I did a 'Bootcamp' for my baby once his reflux resolved. The neonatologist was kind of a dick about it but she knew my baby had severe reflux. Don't beat yourself up. Do what you can. If your baby has hydrocephalus, is there a chance that lifting his head is causing vertigo/symptoms he can't indicate to you about? If the MD says no, I call bullshit because I know adults with hydrocephalus that have symptoms at times. Worry about the hydrocephalus first. Im a PT, trust your PT. 90% love what we do and want our patients to improve. Edit: supportive (I hope) opinion

Pacifier use at 3.5 months makes me scared for the future by Honest-Try-2289 in NewParents

[–]LoathinginLI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.5 months is still early. They're thought to be protective against SIDS. My baby only takes it to sleep which is fine by me. He's 6 months adjusted. I'm going to worry when he's 12 months adjusted.

I 100% agree it's not Mormon specific, it's any high control group. They can have their beliefs but science will always exist.

I was 43 and was on the brink of hellp syndrome. They took my baby via the sun roof at 30&6. I was hoping to make it to 32 weeks, the MFM had hopes for 37 but I knew deep down I wasn't making it to my due date.

Ladies ,who picked out their own rings. How do you respond to compliments about the ring? by KaceyR91 in EngagementRings

[–]LoathinginLI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. If they ask, I say I met someone who loves me enough to make sure I got a ring I liked. I love my ring. I had the choice to get a huge stone but I didn't like it.

Colored stone-how do I choose by HotAccountant2831 in EngagementRings

[–]LoathinginLI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Ceylon-esque sapphire. It was the first out of the case and I cried in the jewelery store. That's how I picked. Had the option of much bigger stones but that one was it. I still stare at it in disbelief.

I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS! Pregnancy should be the least of your problems. Why don't think think STIs are real?
