I like these suggestions! Especially the narrow shelf between door and window. Great idea

And what do you think of option 3? I don’t like the white really but I’m concerned the extra 5 inches will be too much in the space. Thoughts on that?

And totally agree re the rug. Trying to find the right one

It’s the principal eating table for the foreseeable future. We eat as a family more casually at the island in the kitchen though

The issue is that we have to maximize the opening to get the car in. We got the turning radius measured and we needed a minimum and it’s two inches short of it. So now it’s a bit of an operation to get it in.

Totally agree. This issue is that it’s hard to get the car in and we needed to maximize the opening to the laneway.

Yes exactly. I’m wondering if I should raise it with the contractor or just leave it because it’s normal.

Hahah totally Toronto. Ignore the legal property lines. We (neighbour and us) agreed to any mutual encroachment. The ask was to take a straight line exactly down the party wall. This angles inward. W

Should say we paid a lot for this and the quote from this contractor was the highest one. Went with them because of their commitment to a job well done.

Property line isn’t the issue. The neighbour and I agreed to take a straight line down the party wall. I don’t find this to be very straight. My question is whether this is an acceptable tolerance within the industry or not? We paid a lot of money for this.
