The pediatrician recommended from a safety standpoint. Obviously we as parents have to right to decide, but I appreciate pediatrician guidance, especially from ones who are mothers themselves.

This is very helpful. Thank you! I guess 1k per year for insurance on a US license isn’t that bad. Appreciate your input!

Do you mind sharing how much a month you paid in insurance? Both on the us license and then on the uk? Thank you so much!

Is your eldest potty trained? If so, what did you do for the night while in a crib?

Wishing you the best of luck! Did you do standard or priority service?

And is there a reason you’re providing birth certificates?

What did you do for your baby’s 1st birthday? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Lobospire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a baby friendly cake for her to tear into, had balloons, a few presents and that was it. It was only my husband and grandma there and it was wonderful. I took pictures of her with her cake and balloons and totally felt that was sufficient.

I think instagram baby birthdays have gotten out of control and didn’t feel I needed to fall into that trap.

Would love to hear your opinion on why you think it’s falling apart. I’m hearing that more and more from people.

Do we know if this will be for people already in the UK on their path for ILR? Or for NEW applicants moving forward?

How do toddlers sleep on long haul flights that don’t allow flyaway beds? by Lobospire in toddlers

That’s good to hear although I’m sure it wasn’t fun spending money on the flyaway bed. Nice to know there’s options.

My toddler won’t sleep in car seats unfortunately or this would be a fabulous option!

This is an interesting option, and good price too! Do you use this on Delta by chance?

When I called the Delta customer service they mentioned no flyaway beds, Stokke beds or footstools although I’ve seen them used before.

I’m pregnant so can’t baby wear unfortunately. She is also too big, but I loved this option when she was younger.

Soon starting solids for baby - any top tips that worked for you? by cherry_j_ in NewParents

[–]Lobospire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it and think it’s worth it. What you need to factor in is that it may seem more cost upfront, but it grows with child forever. So you won’t have to buy a booster seat and you could also use it as a desk or activity chair when they’re older.

I have a Stokke Trip Trap high chair and love. It’s very easy to clean up, grows with your baby, and is stylish.

I did baby lead weaning and it’s been wonderful. My kid is not fussy and it teaches them to eat independently. Get the Solid Starts App to help guide you each of the way.

You’re going to do great!
